About the role:
We are looking for a
Data Engineer
to support the Finance Business Controlling team through
Python-based automation and data engineering
.
Responsibilities:
Develop, maintain, and optimize
Python automation
for finance and controlling workflows.
Automate complex
Excel and OneStream
processes using Python and VBA.
Build and maintain
data pipelines
for cleaning, transformation, allocation, and reconciliation.
Create
standardized data models
for recurring FP&A cycles (Actuals, Forecast, Budget).
Improve and industrialize existing workflows to reduce manual effort and errors.
Produce clear
SOPs and documentation
, and support user training and handover.
Build and maintain
Power BI / Qlik Sense dashboards
for business performance monitoring.
Provide technical support during month-end, forecast, and peak reporting periods.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
5+ years of experience
in Python development, automation, or data engineering.
Strong hands-on experience with
Python (pandas, numpy)
and Excel automation.
Solid understanding of
data modeling and ETL processes
.
Experience with
SQL
; Snowflake experience is a strong advantage.
Experience building dashboards using
Power BI and/or Qlik Sense
.
Familiarity with
Git, version control, and documentation best practices
.
Ability to understand finance workflows (FP&A / Controlling) and translate them into technical solutions.
Strong ownership, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 12 months
Pay: Up to RM6,000.00 per month
