About the Role

We're looking for a Data Engineer with hands-on experience in

Dataiku DSS

and

Python

to join our growing data team. You'll be responsible for building and maintaining scalable data pipelines that power insights, reporting, and machine learning workflows. If you're passionate about data, automation, and delivering clean, reliable datasets to downstream users, we'd love to meet you.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using

Dataiku DSS

Build and automate data workflows using

visual recipes

and

Python code

Integrate multiple data sources (databases, APIs, cloud storage) into a unified data platform Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to deliver clean, transformed datasets Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and pipeline alerting Optimize performance using SQL pushdown, partitioning, or Spark (if applicable) Contribute to data documentation, wikis, and version control of data flows

Requirements

Bachelor's degree

in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML, or a related field. 2-5 years of experience in data engineering, ETL, or database management. Minimum

2 years of hands-on experience with Dataiku DSS

and

Python

. Solid understanding of

ETL/ELT concepts

, data structures, and transformation logic Experience working with

SQL databases

(e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) Attention to details, strong commitment to deadlines and data accuracy. Strong communication skills, problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative hybrid team. Resides in

Klang Valley

and will

attend on-site meetings

as required/needed.

Good to Have

Experience with .NET (C#) for backend or integration tasks Exposure to

cloud platforms

(AWS, GCP, or Azure) Experience with

Spark

,

Airflow

, or other data tools Understanding of

MLOps

or working with data engineering teams

Additional Information:

Independent contractor role (no visa sponsorship available). Compensation range from RM4k-RM6k depending on your experience.
