Data Migration Specialist (6 Month Contract)

Job Description


** This is 6-month contract position

Requirements:

The right candidate will be a passionate and experienced Data Migration Analyst who can work in an Agile environment with an ability to hit the ground running and have experience working across multiple departments and software environments.

The candidate will also have an ability to learn new concepts and systems quickly and not be afraid of challenging the status quo. Most importantly the candidate will have strong data architecture, modelling, data planning, and integration experience with a proven background of pulling together data from several disparate sources into a cohesive data structure.

Lastly, the ideal candidate will have a open and transparent communications style and be able to work closely with the **** job position **** to suggest improvements to current and future projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in data migration activities
  • Creation of transformation scripts and tasks
  • Consult with various stakeholders including subject matter experts to understand the source and target data models
  • Develop a detailed understanding of data models for projects that are part of current and future migrations
  • Execute data extraction, cleansing and loading from various systems.
  • Adhere to company and best practice security standards
  • Participate in data quality and reconciliation activities
Skills and experience
  • Experience with analysing data models in both source and target system landscapes and defining appropriate mappings and transformations necessary to successfully migrate the relevant data
  • First-hand experience working on medium to large scale data migration projects
  • Hands on experience with migration tools such as SSIS
  • Expertise in Excel, SQL, and the use of APIs
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion would be highly regarded
  • Experience with Salesforce data model and the use of Dataloader.io
  • Experience with testing, reconciliation and troubleshooting data lineage issues
  • Expert knowledge and experience in executing data projects and various data migration techniques and approaches
  • Experience and understanding of cloud services and applications
  • Experience in using JIRA and Microsoft Teams.
  • Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery teams.
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with subject matter experts, understanding of business processes and developing source and target reconciliation reports to enable the business to reconcile migrated data
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability quickly breakdown problems and find innovative solutions.
  • Exhibit strong emotional intelligence skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify, analyse and document data quality issues and facilitate / coordinate the resolution of these issues.
  • Solid experience specifying ETL source to target mappings, transformations, and reconciliation / validation rules.
