Our company is seeking a talented data modeler to assist with the design and implementation of the bank\'s datalake. As a data modeler, you will be working closely with data engineers, data analysts and the business teams to implement data modeling solutions in order to streamline and support enterprise information management. To ensure success as a data modeler, you should have in-depth knowledge of data warehousing/datalakes, as well as expert communication skills. Ultimately, a top-notch data modeler should be able to design models that reduce data redundancy, streamline data movements, and improve enterprise information management. Day-to-day activities Work with the business and data analysts/data science to understand their data requirements and translate business needs into data models supporting long-term solutions. Work with the business and application development teams to define the data requirements Work with the Application Development team to implement data strategies, build data flows and develop conceptual data models within the bank\'s datalake. Create logical and physical data models using best practices to ensure high data quality and reduced redundancy. Optimize and update logical and physical data models to support new and existing projects including systems implementation and/or analytics needs. Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata. Develop best practices for standard naming conventions and coding practices to ensure consistency of data models. Recommend opportunities for reuse of data models in new environments. Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies. Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness. Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions. Define and govern data modeling and design standards, tools, best practices, and related development for enterprise data models. Work proactively and independently to address project requirements and articulate issues/challenges to reduce project delivery risks. Skillset Bachelor\'s or master\'s degree in computer science/data science or related experience. 5+ years of hands-on relational, dimensional, and/or analytic experience (using RDBMS, dimensional, NoSQL data platform technologies, and ETL and data ingestion protocols). Experience with data warehouse, data lake, and enterprise big data platforms in multi-data-center contexts required. Good knowledge of metadata management, data modeling, and related tools required. Experience in stakeholder management, communication, project management and presentation. Banking experience will be an added advantage.
