Play an active role on projects of diverse scope, range, priority and urgency within the insurance domain Translate between business and analytical problems Interrogate and interpret data and models to formulate, evaluate and iterate hypotheses quickly Integrate, format and present relevant analyses and data visualizations to communicate results, findings and recommendations to business users Support Data & Analytics colleagues and business stakeholders as a Machine Learning expert. Ability to support the development of architectural prototypes that integrate machine learning with complex and fluid IT systems. Advanced data visualization skills (e.g. PowerBI, ggplot, plotly) Inquisitive, with a passion for business improvement and empirical analysis Intermediate to advanced programming skills (particularly in R, Python) Preferred Education Specifics Bachelor to Master\'s Degree in Quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or related disciplines.) Preferred Experience Experience in producing meaningful insights from large structured and unstructured datasets. Analytics experience using modern data science tools such as R, Python, Spark. Experience working collaboratively on programming projects. Comfortable working in a Linux environment. Preferred Knowledge Detailed knowledge of state of the art statistical and machine learning techniques and their business applications. Working knowledge of IT and Cluster technologies such as: Vagrant, Puppet, docker, Mesos, Jenkins. Intermediate knowledge of relational databases such as: SQL, Hive, Pig. Understanding of experimental design techniques and their associated limitations. Working knowledge of probability theory and the applications of Bayes theorem.
