ROLE PROFILE

FUNCTION: Finance

SUB FUNCTION: Finance- Audit

LOCATION: Selangor, Malaysia

Purpose Statement:

• Complete independent analysis of data utilizing relational databases, big data databases, programming languages and visualization tools across structured and non- structured data to support the delivery of engagements globally.
• Develop analytics through the analysis of key risk indicators, identification of anomalies/outliers and provide insight into adherence to internal controls through the use of data science/analytics.
• Looking ahead with respect of new technologies and the usage of AI to support engagements.

What you will be accountable for:

• Identify, design, and develop data analytics extract routines to support department\'s activities.
• Manage data extraction, storage, transformation, and applying data science and/or machine learning, and generate output for visualisation/analysis by the rest of the team.
• Use tools to automate routines and develop techniques for continuous monitoring and analyzing large volumes of data.
• Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and data elements to support data science initiatives.
• Assessing data sources and validating the completeness and accuracy of data received (where applicable).
• Interact and collaborate with other team members in working towards departmental objectives relating to data science and analytics.
• Execute on special data science/analysis focused projects as requested by management.
• Support for internal investigations through data science/analytics.
• SME across data insights and development across department\'s capability around retail and consumer insights as well process mining and robotic process automation technologies.
• Promote an awareness of risk management and control practices with BAT management.
• Identify opportunities to apply machine learning and other artificial intelligence techniques around engagements.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Degree educated with relevant professional qualification.
• Experience in the development and use of data science and analysis tools and techniques (e.g. SQL, Python/R, Tableau/Power BI) or other similar tools.
• Experience with SAP (ERP and BW) data analysis at a database level.
• Experience with tools like SQL Server, Snowflake and Dataiku.
• Experience in automation tools (UiPATH and Power Automate). Other similar tools can be considered.
• Desirable experience in process mapping, data science application, advanced analytics, machine learning and unstructured data processing.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and able to collaborate well with others.
• Good communication and presentation skills.

BENEFICIAL

• Experience with accounting firm and/or corporate industry experience
• Knowledge in ecommerce platforms (e.g. Shopify, Magento).
