Ensure the delivery of high-quality data solutions by planning, coordinating, and executing testing activities across data platforms, pipelines, and reporting tools. This role focuses on validating data accuracy, system functionality, and performance, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Test Planning & Preparation
Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, and test suites.
Define test criteria and assess regression testing scope.
Write complex SQL queries for data validation, reconciliation, and integrity checks.
Gather testing requirements from business users and analysts.
Manage test artifacts using tools like JIRA (test cases, cycles, defects).
Support test automation development and setup.
Monitor progress of test script development.
2. Test Execution
Conduct System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Execute manual and automated tests for data pipelines and reports.
Validate ETL processes and data flow from source to target systems.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of BI reports and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
Resolve defects and coordinate retesting efforts.
Generate test reports and document outcomes.
3. Test Coordination
Collaborate with Data Engineers and SMEs to estimate and allocate testing resources.
Coordinate end-to-end testing activities across teams.
Provide training and support on test tools and processes.
Communicate testing requirements and timelines to stakeholders.
4. Communication & Reporting
Deliver testing progress updates and KPI reports.
Advise stakeholders on testing strategies and improvements.
Document and share lessons learned and best practices.
5. Process Improvement
Analyze current testing processes and recommend enhancements.
Stay updated on industry trends and testing methodologies.
Contribute to automation and efficiency improvements.
6. Data Migration & Integration
Participate in data migration and integration projects.
Validate completeness, correctness, and consistency of migrated data.
7. Risk & Compliance
Identify testing risks and propose mitigation strategies.
Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards.
Key Requirements:
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
Strong understanding of data concepts, relational databases, and data warehousing.
Experience in ETL/Big Data testing and BI data validation.
Proficiency in SQL for data querying and validation.
Familiarity with test management tools (e.g., JIRA).
Experience in manual and automated testing methodologies.
Nice to have skills
Experience with Azure Synapse, Oracle ERP, SAP, and BI platforms.
Knowledge of ELT/Big Data automation testing.
Understanding of Agile and DevOps practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.
