Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Provide
database administration support
with a primary focus on PostgreSQL. Performdatabase maintenance, housekeeping, and troubleshooting
. Identify and resolveperformance issues
, including SQL tuning, indexing optimization, and database changes. Manageincidents, problems, and changes
related to databases in collaboration with other teams. Conductcapacity planning, system performance analysis, and resource monitoring
. Develop and maintaindocumentation
for database procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting. Handleinstallation, configuration, migrations/upgrades, and patch management
. Monitor databases proactively to ensurehigh availability and performance
. Supportbackup and recovery activities
, ensuring disaster recovery plans are in place. PerformSQL (PL/SQL) programming
and scripting inUnix, PHP, or Python
. Participate in anon-call rotation
for 24/7 incident response. Implement and maintainPostgreSQL disaster recovery and HA solutions
. Ensure compliance withdata protection regulations
.Qualifications / Skills:
Essential:
5+ years of experience in
PostgreSQL database administration
. Basic experience supportingCloud PaaS subscriptions
onGoogle Cloud or Azure
. Knowledge ofPostgreSQL administration
, monitoring, backup/recovery. Strongproblem analysis, debugging, and vendor support skills
. Experience withperformance tuning
, database installation, patching, and configuration. Knowledge ofhigh availability (HA) solutions
, cloning, duplication, and data transfer. BasicUnix shell scripting, PHP, or Python
programming. BasicSQL programming
skills. Understanding ofdatabase security
andcloud key rotation/network encryption
.Preferred:
Knowledge of other databases like
Cassandra, Redis Cache
. Familiarity withsoftware methodology, IT security, and QA processes
. Enthusiastic aboutnew technologies
and proactive in troubleshooting.Job Type: Full-time
Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
