Our database services include installing & deploying databases, database migration and upgrade, optimizing performance, capacity planning, backup recovery. We also consult, design, and manage maximum high-availability clustered environments, disaster recovery, and ensuring continuous 24 x 7 operations.

We are currently looking for candidates to join our Database Consulting Team as a Database Consultant. We focus on both delivering projects & working with our customers to find solutions to their issues. Responsibilities

Responsible for the technical support and consultancy for the products, solutions and services offered by the business unit. Our services offerings include database, fusion middleware, virtualization, systems tools and utilities.

Conducting R&D on emerging technologies and constantly updated with technological development and make contributions to the companys overall technological direction.

Install, administer and maintain MS SQL Database product range

Install, administer and maintain Oracle Database product range

Installation, clustering, availability group setup, upgrade and patching of MS SQL server

Installation, clustering, availability group setup, upgrade and patching of Oracle Database server

Oracle & MS SQL Database performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools

Install, administer and maintain virtualization product range OVM, KVM and VMware

Explore, Install and configure advanced subjects such as Setup Web/Application Server, database, clustering & load-balancing under UNIX/Red Hat Linux/ Windows Server Family/Solaris environment.

Acquire an increasing knowledge on the various systems / applications that are used and provide support / consultation to customers on how to best utilize these systems / applications.

Support sales team in customer visit for product discussions.

Conduct product presentation and demonstration.

Database Operational 24/7 support by roster
Requirements
Degree or Professional Degree in Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Computer Science/IT or equivalent.

Minimum 3-5 years working experience in MS SQL Server & Oracle Database administration experience including performance tuning and capacity management. Have good concept on RDBMS and DBA principles.

Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options

Experience in troubleshooting and resolving performance issues, blocking/deadlock issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc in MSSQL server & Oracle Database

Good knowledge of backup/restore, recovery models, database shrink operations, DBCC, Clustering, database mirroring, Replication, Always On

Experience working with Windows server and virtualization

Experience in deployment of databases in cloud (AWS, Azure, OCI) will be of

added value

Exposed to Operating systems such Linux, Solaris & other UNIX variant.

Possess good technical knowledge in any of the following: Shared/ SAN attached disk subsystems, SAN Fabric switch technology, tape subsystems, enterprise backup software.

Good knowledge of troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

Able to work independently to meet project deadlines with minimum supervision.

Good interpersonal and communication skills to deal with people from various technical and business backgrounds and at all levels.

Must be proactive, team player and business-oriented.

Must possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as a strong command of English language, both verbal and written
