DESCRIPTIONAWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers and partners including public sector.
Amazon Web Services is leading the next paradigm shift in data domain and is looking for a candidate to help accelerate database modernization with AWS partners. As the Database partner Solution Architect for APJ, you will work with partners to modernize customer\'s database workloads from legacy databases to modern cloud native databases. As a partner Solutions Architect you\'ll help build an ecosystem of partners for our database services. This involves engaging with consulting and technology partners and their customers to integrate AWS database services into their solutions and practices. In this hands-on technical specialist role, you will help our partners build complex database & data architectures. You will work in close collaboration with our partner management teams to help partners build and upskill on AWS database services and choose AWS as their preferred platform for customer implementations. Shaping and delivering a strategy to accelerate use of AWS data services in partner solutions, including managed databases is a key part of the role.You will own the technical engagement with partners and their ultimate success. This includes implementation projects, developing a deep expertise in the AWS technologies. In this role, you will be highly collaborative working across a broad set of teams and managing stakeholders. You will act as voice of partners internally with AWS services and Global COE teams.Key job responsibilities

• Engage C-level business and technical executives of partners and customers of all sizes and demonstrate the value proposition of AWS database platforms
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure database solutions are designed for successful deployment in the AWS cloud.
• Dive deep with partners to build technical capabilities through 1:1 and 1-to-many training sessions on various AWS Database services & solutions to build their database and data modernization practices on AWS
• Be the thought leader on AWS database services and present in various forums on AWS database services, modernization of databases
• Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers, blogs.
• Nurture relationships with partners, enabling them to drive customer success leveraging AWS database services.
• Act as a technical liaison between service engineering team, account teams and our partner community

APJ Industry & Partner Solutions COE team is responsible to grow AWS services adoption, along with focus in targeted industries through differentiated partner solutions built on AWS services.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Kuala Lumpur, 15, MYSBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 10+ years of experience as Solutions Architect, Cloud Architect, Technical Consultant, Software Architect, Engineering Lead on Database or Data platforms.
- 5+ years of experience working with relational and non-relational database solutions with architecture level knowledge
- Knowledge in minimum 3 of following: Amazon Aurora, RDS, Oracle DB, MS SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Redshift.
- Effective collaboration skills with the ability to interact and influence CxO level executives
- Experience with large heterogeneous database migration or modernization projects and Experience driving or working in data transformation across application, databases and analytics.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Effective verbal, written communications skills, and interpersonal skills.
- AWS implementation or consulting experience and/or Architect experience on choosing right database solutions for various workloads
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with Big Data Technologies such as Enterprise Data Warehouses, Hadoop, Visualization Tools, Data Ingestion Technologies
- AWS Professional SA Certification
- AWS Database Specialty and AWS Data Analytics Specialty or AWS Data Engineer Associate Certification
