The Dean is responsible for providing strategic academic and administrative leadership to the Faculty, ensuring excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement. The role involves driving the Faculty's growth, enhancing its national and international reputation and aligning programmes with industry needs (e.g., PDRM, MMEA, Prisons Department, Immigration and public sector agencies)

The Dean will also ensure compliance with MOHE, MQA and institutional regulations while fostering innovation in law enforcement and public sector education.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



1. Academic & Strategic Leadership



Develop and execute the Faculty's strategic plan in alignment with the University's vision and national higher education policies (e.g., Malaysia Education Blueprint, MOHE directives).

Lead curriculum development, accreditation (MQA) and programme reviews to ensure relevance to law enforcement, criminology and public sector trends.

Promote applied research in policing, security and public administration, securing grants and industry collaborations.

Ensure quality assurance (QA) compliance, including audits, programme standards, and student learning outcomes

2. Administrative & Operational Management



Oversee faculty budget planning, resource allocation, and financial sustainability (e.g. revenue from student enrolment, executive training programmes).

Enhance student recruitment, retention and employability through industry partnerships (e.g. internships with PDRM, AG's Chambers, local governments etc.).

Implement digital transformation in teaching (e.g. blended learning, simulation-based training).

Manage faculty staffing, including recruitment, performance evaluation and professional development for academic and support staff.

3. Industry & Stakeholder Engagement



Strengthen ties with government agencies (e.g. PDRM, JPJ, MACC), industry bodies (e.g. MIROS, Criminology Malaysia) and international institutions.

Develop executive education, consultancy and professional certification programmes (e.g., crime analysis, forensic investigation, public policy).

Represent the Faculty in national committees, conferences and policy discussions related to law enforcement and public administration

4. Compliance & Governance



Ensure adherence to ACT 555 (Private Higher Education Institutions Act), MOHE guidelines and MQA standards.

Monitor legal and regulatory changes affecting law enforcement education and adjust programmes accordingly.

Uphold academic integrity, ethics and institutional policies.

REQUIREMENTS



Education & Experience



Masters / Degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Public Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 6-7 years in senior academic leadership (e.g., Dean, Deputy Dean, Head of Department) .

Experience in MQA accreditation, programme development, and industry-linked curricula.

Skills & Competencies



Visionary leadership with ability to drive change and innovation.

Financial acumen for budgeting and revenue generation (e.g. corporate training programmes).

Digital proficiency (e.g. LMS, data analytics for student performance tracking).

Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English (written and spoken).

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM13,000.00 per month
