Deburring & Polishing Operator

Summary of the role:

Successful candidate will be responsible for performing job assignments on deburring and polishing process. Deburring and polishing machine operations include grit blasting, tumbling, sand belting, drag polishing, and in progress ultrasonic cleaning. Responsible person shall perform task according to procedures and work instruction (WI), timely perform maintenance on deburring and polishing equipment, performs visual inspection and inspection with manual gauges.

Responsibilities:
Performs all Machining and functions.

-Good understanding of product identification and traceability.
- Conduct line clearance, deburring and polishing as per Work Instruction and Work Scheduler.

- Able to perform transactions on SAP.

- Perform deburring, and visual check on component after machining; ensure timely delivery of products in required quality.

- Actively participate in maintain 5S at work environment to increase the productivity and maintain safety.

- Properly setup and handle deburring equipment and parts with correct parameters for Deburring and polishing processes

- Support daily task that given by superior from time to time.

Training and Continuous Improvement

- Maintains safety practices of production environment; (wear protective clothes, gloves, as required).

- Participates in process improvement/Kaizen teams to increase process efficiencies.

- Maintaining 5S practices on the shop floor to facilitate manufacturing functions.

- Perform in other areas as requested by Team Leader including but not limited to one or more of the following: finishing, material deployment, quality and other machining areas

- Complete scrap records, training records, and other documentations as required.

- Complete all job specific required training.

Location:
Penang, Malaysia

Education:

High school education or equivalent

Experience:

- Experience working in a machining manufacturing environment preferred.

- Must have a steady hand to perform precise handwork

- Prefer working experience in similar metal removal, polishing and visual inspection processes

Competences:

Ability to read, write and speak in English.

Ability to assimilate information quickly and possesses strong decision-making abilities.

Ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting products/materials of varying weight and sizes.

Frequent carrying, reaching, bending and standing activities involving the use of the hands, wrist and upper extremity components.
