Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place (preparation and organization of ingredients) for various dishes.
Execute basic cooking techniques and tasks, such as chopping, slicing, and sauteing.
Ensure that food items are prepared according to standardized recipes and under the guidance of senior chefs.
Cook and plate dishes under the supervision of a higher-ranked chef.
Monitor and maintain food quality, flavor, and presentation standards.
Follow proper food safety and sanitation practices to prevent contamination and ensure food safety.
Keep the workstation clean and organized
Maintain kitchen equipment and tools in good working order, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
Assist with inventory control by monitoring ingredient levels and informing senior chefs when supplies need replenishing.
Properly label, store, and rotate food items to minimize waste.
