The Demi Chef (Pastry) supports the Chef de Partie in managing the pastry section, ensuring the preparation, baking, and presentation of high?quality desserts and baked goods. This role requires both technical skill and leadership ability, as the Demi Chef guides Commis Chefs while maintaining consistency, creativity, and hygiene standards.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and bake pastries, cakes, breads, and desserts to company standards.
Assist the Chef de Partie in supervising and training Commis Chefs.
Ensure mise en place is completed efficiently for daily operations.
Contribute to menu development by suggesting new pastry ideas and seasonal specials.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with food safety regulations in the pastry section.
Monitor stock levels and assist in ordering ingredients.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of pastry equipment.
Collaborate with the wider kitchen team to deliver timely service.
Uphold standards for portion control, presentation, and taste.
Qualifications & Skills
Certificate/Diploma in Culinary Arts or equivalent (specialization in pastry preferred).
1-2 years of experience in a pastry kitchen, with exposure to supervisory duties.
Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation.
Ability to lead and motivate junior staff.
High attention to detail, creativity, and passion for pastry arts.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Pay: RM2,300.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
