Purpose Statement : As the Manager - Manufacturing Automation-Regional you will lead the development and deployment of a standardized strategy for flexible automation across the EMEA manufacturing sites. In this exciting role, you will help lead and influence the automation strategy at our manufacturing sites by developing the engineering talent within the sites, identifying the opportunities where Plexus can benefit from the implementation of automation, and leading the site teams in the development and deployment of these opportunities while leading and influencing Plexus Corp and the industry. Key Job Accountabilities : Strategy Development-Define, execute and continuously evolve the manufacturing automation integration strategy. Put resources in place to successfully execute the strategy across the region. Organizational Design and Support - Builds the Regional organization through articulating vision, defining the org design, capabilities, and ensuring that their support structures are in place to meet both the business and customer requirements. Personnel Development - Build a strong team of Subject Matter Experts (SME\'s) throughout Plexus sites to develop new/emerging technologies. Governance - Establish and maintain business and operational standards and governance between Plexus Manufacturing Solutions, Engineering Solutions, and/or third party integration vendors to assure critical quality and performance are met. Business Development - represent Manufacturing Solution in the development of costing and marketing automation solutions for current and potential customers. This role has direct report(s) and will be accountable to execute on Plexus\' talent strategy. Leaders will focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning and ensuring that their employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential. Additional Accountabilities : Mentor and help develop engineers and members of the extended Regional automation team. Contribute to their understanding of controls hardware and software engineering, with focus on its relevance to the individual\'s core areas of responsibility. Help build an overall awareness of sound engineering principles, considerations and applications. Assist with professional development of the team to grow talent and develop successors/ new leaders for Plexus. Network with industry experts to stay current with industry trends relating to the development and control of automated solutions including enhancements to the user experience of the solution for the operator, technician, and engineer. Support the continuous improvement of current systems to meet new customer demand and delivery goals. Includes the use of system data in conjunction with lean principles to drive world class productivity. Establish and maintain data to enable justification of solutions implemented with impact to cost of quality, actual product quality, and production efficiencies. Keep up-to-date with key sector representatives who may be able to give insight into to what extent our customers are deploying or seeking this technology. Keep abreast of technology developments in the electronics manufacturing space as well as in the industries our customers operate in. Use insights to update technology strategy. Define and organize formal and on-the-job training for technicians and engineers working with machine vision and automation technology as part of their role. Establish a rhythm of meetings to build a community of practice across the Region, share successes, and ensure ongoing development of our organizational capability in this area. Show in what ways the technology group adds value in our quest for customer service and operational excellence. Acknowledges and complies with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards provided in the procedures and instructions that are specific to each field, documentation that underlies the proper functioning of the integrated management system of quality, environment, safety and occupational health. Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (less than 25%). Additional duties as assigned. Education/Experience Qualifications : A minimum of a Bachelor\'s degree is required Master\'s degree is preferred. Seven (7) years of related experience is required One (1) or more years of equivalent industry experience is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the key job accountabilities may be considered. Other Qualifications : Practical knowledge of programming 6-axis industrial robots, PLCs, single board computers and other automation peripherals using languages such as RSLogix, Codesys, Python, Fanuc TPP, UR Script, C# or C++Strong understanding of 3D geometry, with the ability to apply it to solve complex mechanical problems using mechatronic subsystems, including robots and pneumatic systems. Strong understanding of system architecture to be able to develop hardware and software system concepts that satisfy a set of Automated Solution requirements. Experience in a manufacturing environment General office equipment and materials Work Environment: The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level.
