The Deputy Head of Legal will provide strategic legal advice and oversee compliance for a leading company in the technology & telecoms industry. This role is ideal for a legal professional with expertise in corporate law and regulatory matters.
Develop and implement comprehensive legal strategies that align with the company's objectives and regulatory obligations.
Provide expert legal counsel to the CEO and executive leadership on diverse matters such as contract negotiation, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, risk management, and litigation.
Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts, partnership agreements, and other key legal documents.
Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards, particularly in telecommunications, digital finance, and data privacy.
Design and maintain robust compliance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver compliance training and promote best practices throughout the organization.
Manage corporate governance responsibilities including preparation and oversight of board and committee meetings, corporate policies, and regulatory disclosures.
Collaborate closely with the board of directors and committee members to uphold governance standards and compliance requirements.
Maintain accurate corporate records, filings, and governance documentation.
Identify and evaluate legal and regulatory risks, offering proactive advice to minimize exposure and protect company interests.
Develop and oversee risk management strategies tailored to safeguard the organization.
Lead and mentor the legal and compliance teams, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous development.

Market Leader Great career progression
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Law.
Over 15 years of post-qualification experience, with a proven track record of leading legal teams. Experience within telecommunications or digital financial services sectors is preferred but not essential.
Capable of operating independently with excellent practice management abilities, strong commercial insight, and the skill to juggle competing priorities across a broad spectrum of issues and stakeholders.
Meticulous attention to detail, combined with the ability to think strategically while actively engaging in routine legal matters. Demonstrates robust analytical and critical thinking skills.
