About the Role As a Design Engineer, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software across our digital and physical floorcare products. You are required to design, develop, and validate concepts, researched by the New Product Innovation team, that ensure our innovative technologies and features have intuitive user feedback and behaviours. You will drive collaboration between multiple functions to integrate each concept into practical, cost-effective, and reliable solutions that are delivered on-time while meeting user expectations. Working as part of a larger project team, youll have your own set of project deliverables and the chance to take ownership of how these are achieved. Some of your tasks that require your capability and responsibility in full or partial includes but not limited to: Support feature owners and Tech leads to define and manage the integrated user experience of features on floorcare products, from concept to release. Collaborate with a wide variety of engineers and specialists from all technical disciplines, to assess and identify feature behaviour or user experience risks specific to a project. Build hands-on, functional prototypes to explore, define and validate feature requirements with user-trialling or lab-based testing. Present and explain findings or ideas confidently and concisely to all level of stakeholders in various types of forums, e.g. design reviews, brainstorming sessions, group meetings, etc. Own and manage feature behaviour documentation, supporting delivery team interpretation and requirements setting. Work with delivery teams to assess the impact of change requests,and managing feature user experience through to release. Work with New Product Innovation Team to identify new feature and continuous improvement opportunities across the floorcare range, and ensure compatibility with our existing products Proactively escalate day-to-day project risks and share progress with senior engineers to ensure task completion on time that contributes to overall project delivery on schedule. About You At least a bachelor\'s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Product Design, Electro-Mechanical or Mechatronics). Minimum 2 years of working experience in R&D environment for consumer products in electrical/electronic home appliances category will be preferred. Experience with basic electrical & electronic engineering principle and SW/HW development process. Experience with basic UX design process (insight-led user-centred design principles, wireframes, storyboards, and user flows) Possess good 3D modelling skill which can turn ideas into digital visual concept in fast and efficient manner. Experience with balancing user experience with technical constraints. Excellent interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills in English. Proactive, self-starter and experience with working independently. An analytical person who can use insights and resolve issues by detecting patterns, observing changes, interpreting result, and making decision based on data and insights available to you. Embedded System Prototyping Experience is a plus Experience using tools such as Figma, Adobe, Illustrator, Photoshop is a plus Malaysia Development Centre: A world-class development centre In 2003, after 10 years of rapid expansion in the UK, Malaysia was chosen as an additional location to allow the continued growth of Dysons manufacturing and testing facility.
