Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Design & Technical Review
Conduct site surveys and technical assessments for HT, LV, and ELV systems.
Prepare and review technical drawings, SLDs, load schedules, design calculations, and engineering documents.
Carry out design, redesign, and value engineering to improve system performance and cost efficiency.
Ensure all designs comply with MS/IEC standards, Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST), local authority requirements, and industry best practices.
2. Tender & Technical Submission Support
Prepare technical proposals, BOQs, scope of work, and cost estimates for tenders.
Support the Commercial Department in design-related tender submissions and re-engineering proposals.
Prepare technical submissions, method statements, materials specifications, and respond to consultant/client technical queries.
Work with PM to identify Variation Orders (VOs) and cost-saving opportunities.
3. Coordination & Technical Support
Liaise with consultants, clients, vendors, and authorities on technical matters.
Provide engineering support to Commercial, Project and Maintenance Teams, including troubleshooting and technical clarifications.
Attend coordination meetings and resolve design or installation issues.
4. Documentation, Compliance & Quality
Maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, and technical files (digital & hardcopy).
Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover packages.
Ensure adherence to MCCT's Quality Management System and support audits for engineering deliverables.
5. Technical Risk & Safety
Conduct basic technical risk assessments related to design and equipment selection.
Ensure engineering outputs incorporate safety and regulatory compliance (DOSH, BOMBA where applicable).
6. Software & Technology
Utilize AutoCAD and electrical calculation tools.
Ensure proper file management and version control of engineering outputs.
7. Continuous Improvement & Other Duties
Contribute to engineering best practices, templates, and process improvements.
Implement all relevant policies, procedures, activities, and instructions as required by the Quality Management System.
Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Board of Directors (BOD).
Qualification & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
ST Chargeman / Wireman Competency
will be an added advantage.
Minimum
2 (Two) years of experience
in electrical contracting, preferably in renovation, refurbishment, and repair projects involving HT, LV, and ELV systems.
Strong knowledge of
electrical distribution systems, control panels, cable routing, grounding
, and ELV systems.
Proven ability to
develop, interpret, and review electrical drawings
, Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), and technical specifications.
Familiar with
electrical testing instruments and commissioning procedures
.
Good understanding of
Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) requirements
, local authority guidelines, and
Malaysian Electrical Standards (MS/IEC)
.
Proficiency in
AutoCAD
and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and familiarity with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Proactive, detail-oriented
, and capable of managing multiple technical tasks in a
fast-paced project environment

Willingness to
travel
to assigned project sites.
