UOB Innovation Hub 2 (InnoHub2) is a UOB-wholly owned subsidiary and a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, providing Group Business Services (GBS) to support the UOB Group. Started in 2021 with technology application design, development and support, InnoHub2 is expanding beyond technology services to deliver other business services to support the Bank's growth ambition. Job Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Developer to join the Core Banking - Loans team. The role requires strong technical skills in RPG and Control Language (CL) programming language and on the AS400 platform and DB2. The candidate must have proven experience working on systems that support loan and lending products for both Retail and Wholesale banking. The candidate will be involved in requirement analysis, system design, development, maintenance, and enhancement of loan systems, and must be able to support critical business functions in a high-paced environment.

  • Develop, enhance, and support applications that manage loan services across retail and wholesale banking.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Perform coding using RPG and Control Language (CL) on AS400 systems and DB2.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance core banking functionality and ensure system integration.
  • Conduct unit testing, system testing, and participate in integration/UAT testing.
  • Ensure applications meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security standards.
  • Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and project managers to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide production support, troubleshoot and resolve issues within defined SLAs.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow established development and documentation standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to support release management and deployment processes.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from analysis to implementation
Job Requirements
  • 6-9 years of experience in software development using RPG and Control Language (CL) on AS400
  • Experience working on Silverlake/AS400 loan systems in a banking or financial services environment.
  • Proficient with DB2 and understanding of data structures and file handling on AS400.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex issues.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies and change management processes.
  • Knowledge in SQL
  • Knowledge of Aldon / Arcad for software deployment automation on AS400.
  • Familiarity with SFTP for secure file transfer.
  • Experience with MQ for inter-system communications.
  • Exposure to Direct Connect and external integrations.
  • Understanding of release management and version control.
  • Background in quality assurance and test support activities.
  • Knowledge in Control-M
  • Knowledge in Islamic financing, limits management, collaterals management, provisioning and loans origination.
