We are looking for a Communications professional / specialist to join the team to help strategise and execute our communications and stakeholder engagement plan to materialise our vision for advancing financial inclusion for all in Malaysia.

Communications professional / specialists should have a strong understanding of the financial, business and media landscape in Malaysia. Able to adapt and work in a high VUCA environment. This role is in charge of aligning with the management, and various teams to achieve the desired communications objective of profiling, building awareness, growing mindshare and driving conversation through earned media about the digital bank (project).

Responsibilities:
  • Communications Plan : Help to develop, execute and manage a comprehensive sustainable communications relations programme that is inline with the company\xe2\x80\x99s vision and objectives.
  • Media opportunities : Work together with the PR team and agency to identify newsworthy angles and opportunities to profile the company, personnel and products, e.g. feature interviews, product launch, company developments, etc.
  • Brand Reputation / Credibility : Serve as an effective filter and collaborate with other teams to help uphold newsworthiness and credibility of Grab\xe2\x80\x99s key messages to stakeholders and target audience.
  • Sentiment / Crisis Management : Work with the relevant teams to plan and effectively execute a sentiment / crisis management programme to manage incidents, issues or crisis and mitigate negative impact to the company.
  • Cohesive Communications Alignment : Build and maintain strong working relationships across departments / teams and provide ongoing counsel and communications support.
  • Media monitoring : With the approved / agreed metrics, analyse the PR output and value generated from efforts and utilise the data as a critical planning tool.
  • Government / Regulators Engagement : Build and manage a concerted engagement plan with key regulators, government and agencies to nurture a positive, open and transparent relationship.
  • KOL Engagement : Together with the team, develop a network of third-party advocates and drive a sustainable programme to leverage third-party credibility for communications.

Requirements:

  • Possess at least Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Mass Communications or equivalent.
  • Preferably 5 to 7 years working experience , particularly in corporate / public / media relations.
  • Good understanding and keen interest in the finance and related industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Malay and English languages. An additional language will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to engage and network well with government and regulators e.g. Bank Negara and the diverse audiences relevant to the finance industry.
  • Good rapport with the financial / business media and relevant influencers.
  • Attention to detail, able to multitask, problem solve and provide counsel relating to media, public and general communications matters.
  • Able to support consumer and marketing communication efforts.
  • Able to work with various stakeholders / departments yet is personally driven and ambitious.
