The combination of our programme management and project management and commercial management capabilities will provide a unique opportunity to do things for our clients.We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Director to lead our Construction management (Project management consultancy) offering in Asia. This individual will work as part of the Major Projects Group (xe2x80x9cMPGxe2x80x9d) in region and across business units, sector, and proposition owners to develop a compelling and differentiated offer in construction management and project management consultancy across our operating markets. The appointed individual will be accountable for the pursuit, conversion, set up and assure our portfolio construction management and project management consultancy appointments in Asia. These appointments cover the full spectrum of sectors such as advanced manufacturing developments, next generation of manufacturing plants, highly technical manufacturing & logistics facilities, data centre campuses, pharmaceutical processing facilities, as well as mixed used developments, hospitality projects and sport events venues.We are positioned to be at the forefront of these sectors and see unparalleled opportunity to lead the market with a unique offer in construction management and project management consultancy regionally. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and driven by the goal of establishing Turner & Townsend as the #1 Consultancy for the delivery of these services in Asia, and a recognized expert in the strategy, setup and implementation of controls and assurance of such projects in region. Reporting to the Head of Real Estate, Asia the individual will be responsible for pursuing, converting, and assuring such projects, interfacing the project teams, bringing subject matter expertise, developing and delivering on a business plan for significant annualised growth, maintaining existing clients and promoting the values of Turner & Townsend to the market.Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Establish a clear strategy (plan) for the pursuit, positioning, and conversion of our construction management and/or project management consultancy targets in region.
• Engage with clients to showcase our construction management and/or project management consultancy proposition and capability through practical, project-specific value adds. This will involve leveraging our global capability and data and insights as necessary.
• Provide subject matter expertise to the set up and planning of major projects including control frameworks and processes aligned to the scale and complexity of the developments.
• Act as Subject Matter Expert (xe2x80x9cSMExe2x80x9d) or Reach-back Expert for key commissions and/or programs, with involvement setting up people, processes, and systems for success.
• Lead in ensuring project assurance activities for our service offer are undertaken in accordance with corporate standards, working in coordination with our risk and assurance functions within the business. Provide follow up and feedback to commission leads and/or business unit leads as applicable.
• Provide key technical and commercial advice to clients across major projects.
• Manage key client accounts and winning new business through organic growth and referral opportunities.
• Embrace and work in a digital project management environment using in-house and partner systems, tools, and methodologies.
• Act as a role model and brand ambassador who drives One Business culture and embodies the values of Turner & Townsend
• Develop and coach/mentor project teams.
• Support our industry professional bodies, through committee participation, thought leadership and public speaking / presentations and help shape best practice.

Skills required

• Exemplary leadership and stakeholder engagement skills and experience.
• Background in construction (contracting) and/or construction management, including prolonged exposure to construction site set up and operations.
• 15+ yearsxe2x80x99 experience leading complex and major projects and programs (in excess of $200m USD) from outset to completion.
• Ability to influence, advise and recommend appropriate course of action to management and executives within client or partner organizations.
• Experience is in a complex stakeholder environment reporting regularly to key stakeholders including internal teams, appointed technical partners and the client.
• Self-motivated and driven.
• Results oriented with high work ethic, stringent quality standards and a commitment to action.
• Strong knowledge and experience in building assets of various real estate sectors.
• Mobile and interested in the geographic spread and diversity of Asia.
• Ability to be mobilized for the setup of major projects and undertake routine visits to assure existing commissions.

Qualifications

• Degree in relevant discipline such as Civil Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management.
• Chartered/qualified with RICS, PMI, APM, or equivalent.
• Proven track record managing large portfolios and/or programs of work: >15yearsxe2x80x99 experience leading and managing construction activities on real estate major projects and programmes.
• Established network within the construction and real estate industry.
• Strong and current understanding of real estate industry trends.
• Experienced in variety of construction management specialist workstreams including site set-up, work front and logistics management, programming and building sequencing, construction methods and materials, sub-contractor and supply chain management, facility commissioning and handover.
• Excellent communication skills, in person and written.
• Fluent in English (where native non-English speaker).
