Role Responsibilities

This is a newly created role within the Data Compliance team within the Group Conduct, Financial Crime & Compliance (\xe2\x80\x9cCFCC\xe2\x80\x9d) function primarily responsible for (1) designing and leading delivery of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s approach to assessing and recording its for Data Risk exposure, aligned to Group Risk Frameworks like ERMF & ORF, and (2) enabling the Group CFCC Data team to develop and maintain a consolidated view of the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Data risk exposure across all businesses, functions and regions.

  • The core purpose of the role is to enable the CFCC function to effectively oversee the Group\xe2\x80\x99s exposure to Data risks, by:
  • Responsible to develop and maintain Data Risk Governance portfolio, , aligning to Group\xe2\x80\x99s risk management frameworks (like ERMF, ORF, CRTF etc), by working closely with internal Data Conduct stakeholders and external stakeholders
  • Own & deliver embedding second line responsibilities outlined in Group risk management frameworks (mentioned above), processes, and risk initiatives within Group CFCC Data Conduct.
  • Establish the end-to-end approach to embed an operating model to support the second line \'oversight and challenge\' responsibility across CFCC advisory (Group & Country).
  • Establishing & maintaining operations and processes required to enable the CFCC function to effectively oversee the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Data Risk exposure, including (a) the taxonomy of Data Risks, (b) the Group\xe2\x80\x99s risk appetite statement for Data, (c) sourcing and interpreting MI and metrics on Data Risk exposure, (d) reporting to Risk Committees on Data risk exposure, and (e) operating the Data Risk (and) Governance Oversight Network (DRaGON).
Responsibilities*

Strategy*
  • Develop & execute the Data Risk strategy into Data Risk management process for the Group, aligning and embedding it as part of the Data Conduct Policy.
  • Develop & maintain internal & external Data Risk insights (MI) to support oversight & challenge of the Data risk profile including monitoring & reporting of Data Risk Appetite to senior committees.
  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the Group CFCC, Data Conduct team as a whole and how these are discharged by the team, especially in relation to the Risk management responsibilities and actively contribute to develop and improve the same, as well as to remain informed of pertinent industry and organisational developments
Business*
  • Ensure continuous and proactive engagement with the CFCC advisory colleagues & Group CDO function (GRC & Business partner teams) as part of delivering the Data Risk Governance responsibilities
  • Provide SME advice on Data Risk Management framework, process, and reports / MI, to all CFCC advisory colleagues, internal Group CFCC Data team and 1LOD partners like CDO teamEmbed the Data Risk governance model to demonstrate effective oversight & monitoring of the Data Risks (especially ERRs), within second line CFCC advisory teams
  • Act as a key contact point for relevant Data Risk Governance matters for Group CFCC Data team
  • Collaborate & partner effectively with all internal stakeholders of Group CFCC Data team and external stakeholders like CFCC F&P, ERM, GOR, CFCC Risk appetite team, CDO GRC & BP team etc.
Processes*
  • Own and manage the maintenance of various Data Risk management deliverables like Data Risk Taxonomy, Data Risk Appetite metrics, Data Risk assessment guidelines, Data Risk scenario testing, Data Threat Landscape etc.
  • Responsible to engage with 1LOD (key business Data Leads / Partners, CDO partners) and 2LOD (CFCC teams, GOR, ERM teams etc) for delivery of effective Data Risk Management framework within the Group
  • Responsible to design an operating model to manage the reporting of all Data Risk MI from a second line reporting responsibility e.g., Risk Appetite report, DRaGON MI, etc.
  • Own and deliver the DRaGON material, working closely with CFCC advisory & CFCC Data team, which includes maintenance of TOR, MOMs, Packs, DRaGON design doc, MI report publishing etc.
  • Responsible to maintain the Data Risk Assessment process and support embedding the same in the risk management system (M7).
Risk Management*
  • In addition to the core risk management responsibilities of the role set out above, the role holder must act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and escalated to management and through the relevant committees.
  • Escalating potential regulatory breaches or where risk appetite likely to breached to ED, CFCC Data Conduct & Global Head, CFCC Data Conduct
Governance *
  • Responsible to provide all Data Risk MI required to support Global Head, Group CFCC Data to report the Data Risk exposure at various Risk Committees like GNFRC, GRC, BAC etc.
  • Responsible to support the execution of DRaGON at set frequency and ensure all exception reports for the same are provided as part of data Risk MI reporting.
  • Manage, track & report all actions assigned to Group CFCC Data team at Group Risk Committees like GNFRC, GRC, BAC etc.
  • Timely escalation to Group CFCC Data LT of any issues related to Data Risk Management & Governance.
Regulatory & Business Conduct *
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group\xe2\x80\x99s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.   • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Qualifications*

Training, licenses, memberships and certifications
  • Wide work experience in Risk management, Risk governance and Risk Reporting is required
  • Technical knowledge on Data Risk areas like Data Privacy, Data quality, Responsible AI etc is preferred
  • Ability to design & implement operating models and managing change
  • Strong analytical and MI reporting skills
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship building, and influencing abilities
  • Ability to collaborate and work dynamically across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Ability to manage geographically dispersed stakeholder base with multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Highly disciplined and structured with an outcome orientated mindset and approach
  • Sound judgement on risk framework and standards matters
