Position Summary The Director of Development and Advancement position will be a close collaborator and strategic partner with GPP\'s Executive Director in identifying, soliciting, and stewarding grants and other resources to support the organization\'s mission. The position oversees all aspects of Development for the organization, including the advancement and implementation of a multi-year fundraising strategy, grant writing, reporting, and general management and oversight of related revenue forecasting, budgeting, and administrative systems. The ideal candidate will have 7 or more years of development experience, as well as familiarity with LGBTI philanthropy or a related human rights field within philanthropy, working with private and public foundation donors and donor governments, and earned income streams. Note that GPP does not engage in individual donor or mass marketing fundraising campaigns. The ideal candidate will work well independently and collaboratively and is familiar with global LGBTI movements. This position is 100% remote and may require limited international travel (1-3x per year). This position is exempt and has a competitive salary and full benefits package. The Director of Development and Advancement is a new position. This position reports to the Executive Director and does not currently supervise any staff. About Global Philanthropy Project Global Philanthropy Project (GPP) is a collaboration of funders and philanthropic advisors working to expand global philanthropic support to advance the human rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI) people in the Global South and East. Established in 2009, GPP\'s 23 member organizations include many of the leading global funders and philanthropic advisors for LGBTI rights. As the first international cohort of LGBTI funders, GPP is internationally recognized as the primary thought leader and go-to partner for donor coordination around global LGBTI work. More information: Essential Job Functions With the Executive Director, lead the development and implementation of annual and multiyear comprehensive fundraising plans, including setting and achieving organizational revenue goals ($3 million annually with aspirations to grow). Develop concept notes and grant proposals (typically 1-5 per month) stewarding relevant staff contributions to these documents. Lead on providing grant reports (typically 1-5 per month) and fulfilling grant requirements from donors, working with program staff to gather data, content, etc. Provide and contribute to narrative program reporting for board meetings and other internal activities (typically 1-2 per month). Collaborate with the Executive Director in the annual budgeting and revenue planning process. Manage ongoing tracking of revenue and ensure the organization meets its strategic annual and multi-year revenue goals. Research, identify, and solicit funding from new sources to increase the organization\'s grant portfolio. Evaluate current development infrastructure, and identify strategies to improve and enhance institutional fundraising processes and grants management systems. Incorporate earned revenue strategy (e.g., conference and training income) in annual goals and planning. Participate in GPP overall strategic development. Knowledge And Skills Required Experienced development professional with 7 years or more of demonstrated success. Experience with grant proposals and reporting for a range of donor types including private and public foundations. Familiarity with the LGBTI global human rights landscape, specifically the LGBTI philanthropic field and development sector. Skilled writer - ability to tell the story of complex strategic and programmatic work. Ability to manage multiple deadlines, projects, and people. Experience in developing and managing revenue streams, ideally for organizations in the $3-$5 mil budget range. Comfort and fluency with revenue allocations, forecasting, and other budgeting strategies. Well-organized, attentive to detail, and timely with follow-through. Highly competent in Excel or Google Sheets. Knowledge And Skills Preferred Experience with government grant proposals and reporting. Familiarity with CRMs (GPP uses CiviCRM) and Quickbooks. Hours and Compensation This is a full-time, exempt position with a 35-hour work week. This role is 100% remote. The salary range for this position is $110,000-$125,000 USD, depending on the location of the applicant.
