General Duties

Responsible for planning, organizing and controlling the hotel Sales & Marketing policies, department and results.

Management Responsibilities

Being a member of the Executive Committee, you are responsible for taking part in the decision making process of the Executive Committee and for ensuring afterwards that all decisions are fully implemented in the overall operation of the hotel. Responsible for ensuring implementation of the hotel vision and as well as implementation and assessment of the regular business action plan.

Duties and Responsibilities * Participates with the General Manager in the development of the hotel\'s sales standards and procedures and directly responsible of their implementation and execution from the team members.

  • Compiles all necessary market information and prepares and present annual sales and marketing plan as well as middle year estimate.
  • Plans, co-ordinates and directs all activities of the Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Ensures at all time maximum yield for the property both in term of occupancy and average room rate.
  • Directly responsible for all of the hotel total revenue. Ensures maximization of this revenue by preparing market strategies and ensuring the implementation, control and distribution of those strategies both via hotel sales members activities.
  • Monitors the preparation and supervision of monthly sales activity report, daily sales call report.
  • Directly responsible for the distribution of accounts and for ensuring maximization of sales activities by controlling both quality and quantity of sales calls as well as other sales activities.
  • Ensures at all time to stay fully up to date on the market conditions and make regular recommendations to the General Manager.
  • Presents on a monthly basis targets of revenue to be achieved and ensures implementation, control and monthly assessment of all sales members in regards to the sales bonus system.
  • Performs important personal sales calls and overseas sales trip, hosting of FAM trips and journalists/press visits.
  • To become an influential player within the local hospitality and tourism community by representing the hotel in local networking events and functions.
  • Confers and secures important agreements with major commercial partners.
  • Ensures to anticipate on the market tendencies and proposes and implement timely promotions to ensure maximization of the hotel total revenue.
  • Presents both the quarterly business action plan for the hotel Sales, as well as a review of the previous quarters.
  • Understands the clientele motivation and needs as well as the different distribution channels and participates actively with the General Manager in ensuring that both the sales activities and overall product direction are matching those needs.
  • Prepares for the General Manager\'s approval the rate structure of the hotel and ensures full implementation and respect from the rest of the team.
  • To maximize relationship and partnership with GHA, and any other hotel affiliation program.
  • Directly responsible to ensure that the rate structure, other hotel contracts and maximization of reservations are properly loaded and generated via GDS by understanding and controlling the system.
  • Ensures with the other departments concerned implementation and respect of all Alila statistics standards and ensures that Alila reporting standards and deadlines are always respected.
  • Responsible for the individual performances of all sales team members
  • Constantly develops new markets and commercial strategies to internationalize our marketing and business sources.
  • Oversees all Marketing & Communications for the hotel with the support of the Marketing & Communications Manager and General Manager. Areas to be overseen include advertising, digital marketing, public relations and Social Media.
  • Oversees the Revenue and Reservations function together with the Revenue Manager and ensures CRS, CRM and yield management tools are in place and actively monitored and reported on.
  • To play an integral role in the Hotel operations by actively participating in meetings, duties, and events.
Financial Responsibilities * Assist in the preparation of the annual business plan for the department.
  • Monitor the department\xe2\x80\x99s budget and proactively implement corrective action where necessary.
  • Control cost whilst ensuring quality and standards are not compromised.
Communication * Communicate effectively within the organization at all levels using the most appropriate communication method for the matter concerned.
  • Conduct daily briefings and ensure follow-up.
Social Responsibilities * Defines with Hotel General Manager the manpower planning of the Sales & Marketing Department.
  • Ensures at all times quality of recruitment.
  • Ensures that all employees within the departments have a proper job description.
  • Ensures to respect and implement all human resources procedure in terms of discipline, assessment, objectives and training.
  • Responsible for the grooming and attitude of all Sales & Marketing team members.
  • Takes disciplinary action when necessary with the Human Resources Manager.
  • Proposes promotions to General Manager, and salary review within the team.
  • Responsible for the professional skills of all the sales & marketing team.
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of all training programmes, proper planning and reporting of all training matters following the hotel overall policies and in cooperation with the Training Manager
  • Ensures at all times full respect of the confidentiality directly related to his/her function
  • Ensures at all times to maintain a positive reputation for the property.
  • Ensures at all times to respect the hotel image both internally and externally.
  • Ensures at all times utmost professionalism and cooperation with the General Manager, Executive Assistant Manager, Department Heads and with all team members within the property.
Substitutions and duties.

Within the framework of these duties, you may be asked to carry out special tasks, not mentioned in this and defined whenever applicable by the General Manager of the hotel.

Recruitment Criteria * Associate or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Hotel Management or equivalent
  • Experience in similar position or one position lower
  • Possesses people skills by approaching challenges / mistakes in a professional and objective manner
  • Possesses relevant administrative skills
  • Has a confident personality
