Job Location: Hong Kong / Malaysia / Local

Department: Regional Distribution has been driving Distribution Excellence for the past four years to transform and enhance Asia Distribution to the next level. Besides its stringent efforts for the transformation, Regional Distribution is also responsible for Business-as-usuals, monitoring sales regularly and finding and solving issues and chagllenges. Regional Distribution closely work with all the distribution departments of the local countries in Asia along with other Global/ Regional departments cross-functionally. In addition, compensation design is a core element of sales management. Regional Distribution will strengthen the capabilities related to compensation design and management, so that it can provide right level of advice or supports to the markets with the relevant needs.

Asia for MetLife is the most important growth area with very diverse markets and landscape. We are completely re-thinking Asia Diistribuion model and need a few leaders with the right mix of experience to help implement and manage the revamped Distribution model. This team works appreciating cross functional experiences from various industries and functions (technology, product, operations, sales etc.,) to work together in a non-hirerchical way.

The Role:

The Sales and Compensation Management will be responsible for overseeing BAU sales and compensation schemes/sales policies of Asia countries. He/she will collect various metrics, monitor and analyze the trends of numbers, find issues/challenges and generate reports for relevant stakeholders for management updates and decisions. He/she will communicate with Locals and Global/ Regionals at mutual needs.

A candidate are required to have good expericen in sales planning/management and compensation design/management. A successful candidate needs to be always open to change, strong with numbers and analytical skills, and open for technlogies. Most importantly, he/she requires good communication skills all around.

This role is seen as a springboard for future MetLife leaders and sets up the individual to take on leadership roles in Sales or any other area. This role however is not for someone who is driven by ranks and hierarchies and cannot work in a flat highly evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of collecting/analyzing sales numbers and generating management reporting
  • Monitor the sales metrics covering both overall sales and in-depth sales indicators
  • Review and monitor sales compensation and sales policies in local markets
  • Find issues and challenges and propose solution/advice/supports
  • Work with a cross functional team across various functions and capabilities
Key Relationships:
  • Reports to: Head of Regional Distribution
  • Direct reports/team: None
  • Key Stakeholders: CEOs and Heads of Distributions of countries, Regional President - Asia and Regional senior leaders
Candidate Qualifications:

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
  • Strong record of success working in Distribution in insurance
  • Experience in sales and compensation planning, monitoring sales numbers, and reportings
  • Analytical mind on sales metrics
  • Good skills with Microsoft office tools, e.g. Excel and Powerpoint
  • Past consulting or transformational experience appreciated
  • Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment
  • Fluency in English
