We are currently seeking an experienced professional to take on the role Director, Wholesale Chief Operating Office, Malaysia.

Principal Responsibilities

• As a member of the Executive Committee, the role is responsible for the execution of the Wholesale Chief Operating Office (WCOO) strategy in the market and input on the operationalization of the business alongside managing cost, risk and controls, business continuity, and crisis management of the Entity.
• Accountable to the Regional WCOO and Heads of Commercial Banking (CMB) and Global Banking (GB) on the service quality of the WCOO pillars in the market, operating controls, ensuring agreed Service Level Agreement (SLAs), priorities, Key Performance Indicator (KPIs) with CMB and GB are met, and risks are mitigated.
• Effective oversight and governance over market transformation activities
• Provide constructive challenge to existing practices/proposed initiatives and generate new and innovative solutions to address complex issues facing the market.
• Identify any market requirements which may impact country compliance with local regulatory requirements. Escalate with relevant stakeholders to address any conflicts.
• Navigate evolving internal and regulatory standards and manage operational risk and conduct responsibilities effectively, including progress and remediation activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across CMB and GB, as well as the wider organization, ensuring effective communication and collaboration on risk management issues.

Requirements

• Education to degree level or above in Finance, Business Management or related field
• High degree of strategic leadership and management ability, including motivating and influencing across the organizational matrix
• Extensive business knowledge and experience in leading a global business unit with commercial accountability
• Demonstrated knowledge of technology development and how this can be used to meet business needs
• Practical experience of major business transformation with global project management experience
• Broad knowledge of the external regulatory and competitive environment
• High level of drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a broad range of outputs simultaneously
