Job Description


What success looks like in this role:

  • Performs the more difficult, complicated, or problematic administrative tasks in support of contracted services, requiring discretion and judgement.
  • Review documents for compliance with requirements; determine appropriate disposition and make necessary changes; maintain internal reporting mechanisms (logs, graphs, internal reports, etc.); may coordinate activities across work groups.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific terminology required; ability to operate office equipment such as CRT, microfilm/microfiche reader, image workstations, document processors, calculator; ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with internal and external clients.
  • Examples include but are not limited to clerical data entry/input for a client enterprise, claims processing/claims review activities, banking and other outsourced types of service that are non-technical in nature.
  • Performs moderately complex to complex functions associated with the processing of checks from financial centers.
  • These functions may include: timely processing of all ATM work through sorters, accurate performance of negotiability review, timely processing of BIC/NIC work received from the financial centers, balancing work received, customer correction or adjustments, notices, timely preparation of outgoing cash letters and statement rendition.
  • This position requires the running of electronic sorting equipment and the use of PC\'s.
  • This position has a production level and strict time constraints associated with the assignment.
  • This position will lead lower level sorter operators in their assignments.
  • This position functions with light supervision and may perform independently for some tasks.
  • May be required to work occasional weekends.

  • High School, Diploma or equivalent.
  • Applicant should have at least 1-4 years of experience handling moderate to complex check processing clerical duties.
  • Experience with other high volume, processing roles may substitute for check processing experience.
  • Skills associated with this position include: ability to learn, read, and follow detailed instructions, ability to work in a team environment and be cooperative, good PC skills, good attendance and strong data entry for numeric keyboard skills
