Job Description

The Electrical Drafter plays a key support role by preparing

accurate, clear, and compliant electrical design drawings

for HT, LV, and ELV systems. Working closely with the Design Engineer, this position ensures all drawings reflect correct technical requirements, site conditions, and project specifications.

tender, construction, and as-built

stages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Drafting & Design Documentation

Prepare and update

electrical drawings and layouts

, including SLDs, cable routing, schematics, and detail drawings. Convert engineering concepts into

accurate technical drawings

based on inputs from the Design Engineer. Ensure drawings follow correct

drafting standards, symbols, and scaling

requirements. Revise drawings based on

engineering comments, site updates

, or consultant feedback.

2. Coordination & Technical Support

Coordinate with the

Design Engineer, Project Team, and Maintenance Team

to ensure drawing accuracy. Incorporate

site survey information and mark-ups

into the drawings. Support preparation of drawings for

tender submissions, technical proposals

, and construction packages.

3. Compliance & Documentation Control

Maintain proper

drawing records, version control, and document numbering

(digital & hardcopy). Ensure drawings comply with

MS/IEC standards, ST guidelines

, and project specifications. Assist in preparing

as-built drawings

, O&M manuals, and handover documentation.

4. Software & Technical Tools

Proficiency in

AutoCAD

(mandatory) and other drafting tools. Manage

drawing templates, layers, and MCCT drafting standards

. Support adoption of

Revit/BIM

if introduced in future projects.

5. Continuous Improvement & Other Duties

Maintain updated knowledge of

drafting standards and electrical symbols

. Assist the Design Engineer with

engineering documents and technical preparation

. Implement all relevant policies, procedures, activities, and instructions as required by the Quality Management System. Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department (HOD) & Board of Directors (BOD).

Qualification & Requirements

Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Drafting, or related field.

Minimum

2 years of drafting experience

in electrical or M&E projects.

Proficiency in

AutoCAD (2D drafting mandatory)

.

Ability to read and interpret

electrical drawings, SLDs, schematics, and layout plans

.

Good understanding of

electrical symbols, standards, and drafting conventions

.

Basic awareness of

HT, LV, and ELV systems

.

Experience in full M&E Drafting an added advantage.

Strong

attention to detail

and ability to produce

neat, accurate drawings

.

Good

documentation control

and ability to manage multiple drawing revisions.

Willingness to

travel for site surveys

or drawing verification if required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
