Job Duties and Responsibilities
The E-commerce Merchandising Assistant supports the online merchandising and sales operations of the company's e-commerce platforms, including Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok.This role assists in maintaining product listings, monitoring inventory, coordinating with internal teams, and ensuring an excellent online shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing and updating product listings, descriptions, pricing, and images across e-commerce platforms.
  • Support the merchandising team in monitoring stock levels and ensuring product availability.
  • Coordinate with the purchasing, operations, and customer service teams to ensure smooth product flow from listing to fulfillment.
  • Help track sales performance, promotions, and product trends.
  • Ensure product information is accurate, complete, and optimized for search visibility.
  • Assist in preparing reports on product performance and sales data.
  • Participate in planning and execution of online campaigns, including major sales events.
  • Stay updated on e-commerce trends and competitor activities.
  • Provide general administrative support to the merchandising and marketing teams.

Educational and Job Requirements

  • Proficient in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia.

  • Candidates with one year or more of relevant experience will be given priority.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of e-commerce operations and inventory management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Responsibilities
1) Product Assortment & Inventory Management
  • Assist the purchasing team by gathering data and insights on market trends and customer preferences.
  • Monitor sales performance and identify fast- and slow-moving products, preparing basic reports and recommendations for restocking or clearance.
  • Update and maintain product listings across all e-commerce platforms, ensuring product information, pricing, and availability are accurate.
  • Conduct weekly checks on best-sellers and out-of-stock items to minimize lost sales and ensure timely replenishment.
2) Product Launches & Listings
  • Support the listing process for new products, ensuring accurate product names, descriptions, prices, and images are uploaded promptly.
  • Coordinate with the design team to collect and upload high-quality product images and graphics.
  • Assist in preparing and publishing pre-order listings or promotional product links as directed by the merchandising team.
3) Market Analysis & Price Optimization
  • Collect and compile competitor pricing data for analysis by the merchandising team.
  • Help track market demand and product performance, identifying potential opportunities for price adjustments or promotions.
  • Assist in implementing approved pricing updates on e-commerce platforms.
4) Cross-Departmental Coordination
  • Coordinate with the warehouse and operations teams to ensure correct products and quantities are available for order fulfillment.
  • Communicate with customer service to address product-related questions or discrepancies.
  • Provide regular updates to relevant teams regarding stock availability, out-of-stock items, and expected restocks.
5) E-commerce Platform Optimization
  • Help organize and maintain product categories, descriptions, and visual presentation across e-commerce platforms.
  • Support ongoing improvements by testing different product titles, descriptions, and images under supervision.
  • Assist in basic A/B testing to analyze and improve listing performance and conversion rates.
6) Daily Operational Tasks
  • Review daily product orders to confirm inventory availability and flag any discrepancies.
  • Update listings and stock quantities as needed to reflect accurate availability.
  • Report any listing errors or operational issues promptly to the merchandising or operations team.
7) Strategic Improvement
  • Support process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency and product visibility.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to improve product listing quality and the overall customer experience.
  • Participate in team discussions on e-commerce performance, sales trends, and improvement ideas.
