Book Publishing Editor (Mandarin) Location :Tmn pelangi , JB Working days :5 days Nature of Business :Established educational publishing company s: Job Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Edit manuscripts thoroughly. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate and liaise closely with writers. \xc2\xb7 Set deadlines and specifications for the writing of manuscripts. \xc2\xb7 Evaluate writer\xe2\x80\x99s sample chapter. \xc2\xb7 Monitor writers\xe2\x80\x99 writing progress based on the agreed-upon submission schedule; \xc2\xb7 Ensure all projects assigned are accomplished on time. \xc2\xb7 Prepare headings and icons design list. \xc2\xb7 Check and confirm heading and icon design. \xc2\xb7 Check sample layout. \xc2\xb7 Coordinate and liaise with the production staff pertaining to illustrations, typesetting/layout and corrections. \xc2\xb7 Determine the general appearance or physical format of the book. \xc2\xb7 Check and confirm/approve illustrations drawn for the book. \xc2\xb7 Check all text and cover films of the book. \xc2\xb7 Secure resources such as information, data, photographs, etc. \xc2\xb7 Prepare/check selling points for front and back matters of the book published. \xc2\xb7 Prepare/check dummy for printer\xe2\x80\x99s reference. \xc2\xb7 Check book cover mechanical and colour proof. \xc2\xb7 Purchase reference books. \xc2\xb7 Liaise with Marketing Department for feedback on newly released titles. \xc2\xb7 Propose new format of publication (series or titles). \xc2\xb7 Ensure books are updated, vetted and corrected before reprinting. \xc2\xb7 Draft relevant letter to writers. \xc2\xb7 Brief Marketing Representatives on selling points for newly released titles. \xc2\xb7 Prepare promotional brochures/leaflets, posters, calendars, etc. \xc2\xb7 Prepare Royalties Table for the royalty based titles. \xc2\xb7 Write books as and when required. \xc2\xb7 Translate overseas titles as and when required. \xc2\xb7 Perform any ad hoc and other duties relating to the above as may be assigned by your superior from time to time. Job Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Degree/Diploma in related field \xc2\xb7 Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply. 1 to 2 years of experience is an added advantage Job Type: Full-time Salary: RM3,000.00 - RM4,000.00 per month Schedule:
