Job Responsibilities

This corporate position will support the existing and expanding Lam operations in South and East Asia (primarily Korea, Malaysia, India, Taiwan) with Lam EHS Program scoping, planning, streamlining of best management practices, and governance.

Existing Lam Regional Site Support

  • Corporate role responsible for driving consistent EHS programs and practices at the regional Lam factory locations. Assists site EHS managers and staff with EHS program support and alignment with global Lam EHS protocols
  • Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, local regulations pertaining to occupational health & safety, incident reporting, chemical safety and management, industrial hygiene, wastewater treatment, air permitting, and waste management
  • Experienced with implementing EHS programs for construction safety, occupational and industrial safety
  • Performs Lam EHS internal compliance and conformance audits. Assists with regulatory inspections and external & customer audits
  • Develops preventative controls to reduce risk of injury, property damage, and reduce risk to the company
  • Develops and delivers required EHS Training
Lam Expansion Site Support
  • Supports siting efforts including feasibility studies and due diligence assessments
  • Evaluates and identifies Legal and Permit requirements
  • Supports with obtaining environmental permits (air, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous materials)
  • Evaluates site drawings for compliance with local safety regulations and environmental considerations
  • Performs hazard assessments for new equipment, space, processes, and activities
  • Monitors construction management contractor safety programs
  • Supports EHS Program implementation preparation for commissioning, start-up, and operations phases
Other Job Responsibilities

Corporate Program and Function Support
  • Support site EHS hiring, onboarding, training, assimilation, professional growth
  • Responsible for staying current with local and regulation EHS regulations, and implementing actions to stay in compliance
  • Maintains corporate Lam EHS Standards and Program documents and translates existing English documents to local languages
  • Develops Lam EHS Standards and Program documents for new programs in accordance with local or regional regulations
  • Assists with internal and external third-party management system audits (ISO)
  • Supports the maintenance and governance of the incident data management program
  • Creates regional EHS reports and dashboards on performance safety metrics
  • Evaluates and uses EHS performance metrics to drive goals, objectives, and process changes to create continuous improvement
Minimum Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, manage by influence, and drive results
  • Ability to exercise judgment on issues affecting human health, environmental impacts, and workplace safety
  • Skills in analyzing and evaluating a wide variety of technical data, test results, reports, and plans
  • Requires the ability to influence or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes
  • Exceptional root cause and corrective/preventive action development skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making skills and demonstrated expertise in a formal problem-solving methodology
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent in English
  • Willing to travel up to 50%
  • Knowledge of regional environmental, health and safety regulations and requirements
  • Has technical experience in the environmental health and safety profession, preferably within product safety or semiconductor operations
  • Must be comfortable working in a laboratory, clean room, and construction environments
  • Approximately 3-12 years of EHS professional experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering
  • Professional EHS certifications preferred
