Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, quality policies, and employee guidelines.
  • Formally evaluates the performance of team members and champions the professional development of the team. Manage attendance as part of team performance and coverage for absence/vacation requests.
  • Build the capability of the EHSS team or counterpart, controls, and systems and establish workplace inspection, and audit with the standard operating procedure to maintain upkeeping safety in the building.
  • Good interaction with the management team, staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Use Lean principles and tools to drive a continuous improvement culture to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • To carry out functional safety management work such as control, monitoring, enforcing, implementing, coordinating, maintaining, and continuously improving Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment related matters.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as DOSH, Bomba, DOE, JKR, MBIP.etc to ensure meet all compliance with statutory requirements.
  • On-site supervision, implementing the standard operating procedure, ensuring the condition of all related equipment are in safe and ready to operate at any time.
  • Implement, and carry out the internal inspection activity with inter-department personnel and prepare the report of findings. Eliminate incidents, near misses, and hazards happening at the workplace.
  • Good direct interaction or response with all inter-department personnel and fulfilling job requests accordingly in a timely manner.
  • Set up a safety committee at the workplace.
  • Propose best practices, and recommendations to top management.
  • Conduct drill exercises, and set up an ERT team, Disaster plan, and whichever is relevant.
  • Develop training plans and material, write SOPs, and verify activities are performed as specified in documented work instructions relate to EHSS.
  • Lead to identify risk, investigate, and report on incidents and accidents\xe2\x80\x99 root causes and conduct a risk assessment and facilitate training for all parties with respect towards eliminate recurrence.
  • Implement and establish HIRARC measures in all departments. Review annually.
  • Implement and establish an awareness platform from time to time.
  • Responsible for reporting safety, quality, and regulatory compliance concerns to business operations.
  • Assist all authority, internal or relevant body audits, annual authority inspection, and statutory license renewal. e.g DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, SPKA, KPDNKK.
  • Complete periodic reviews and other compliance documentation aligned with the site QMS.
  • Assist and advise on Environment management system compliance and best practices. Biosafety cabinet, Pass box (dynamic & static), LAF, Fume hood, Waste Management, clean room, and other all related.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical documentation standards such as Investigation reports, and Preparing monitoring logbooks, and checklists. Optional.
  • Establish mechanisms of safety permits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety batches. To ensure the safe execution of projects or refurbishment or maintenance activities by contractors, and vendors.
  • Ensure to contribute to quality plans that have minimal interruptions and smooth return to service.
  • Trained relevant team and contractors as required.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly EHSS committee meetings.
  • Understand building nature (structure, drainage, water supply, Civils, sewerage, clean room environment, waste disposal)
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and outsource service providers.
  • Maintain inventory of safety equipment and consumable part of the equipment.
  • Knowledge of SAP system (system application and product). Optional.
  • Always ready to carry out any new task assigned from time to time by a superior.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or Green Book holder or an equivalent combination of education and experience in Occupational Safety, Health, and Environment or equivalent background.
  • 2-3 Years of experience with EHSS or relevant experience from manufacturing -PCBA, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and cleanroom industry.
  • Supervising or leading the EHSS division in a high-volume production or workplace environment.
  • Another safety-related competency certificate is at an advantage.
  • Well knowledge of EHSS department job scope, legislation, and writing reports on OSHA, DOSH, and DOE. Etc
  • Process oriented and uses data to make decisions.
  • Well communication skills with the ability to present to the team, management, and authority
  • Good spoken, and written English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Ability to fulfill job responsibilities in a fast-paced/high-volume production environment.
  • Committed to job roles without hesitation.


Preferred Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong PC and troubleshooting skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of facility systems/equipment, electronic development, or PCBA production, functionality, and interaction.
  • Proficient in computer skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Requires electrical and software aptitude, technical ability, problem-solving skills, and ability to read and understand technical drawings and manuals.
  • Previous experience working in a clean room environment is an advantage.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry; Consumer products or Life Sciences preferred.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and rigorous process discipline.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changes in daily work plans and unplanned issues on EHSS matters and the culture of the production environment.
  • Sound decision-making using data analysis.
  • Multi-language fluency preferred (English, Malay).

Physical Requirements (if applicable):
  • Proactive and Analyze problems or incidents that happened. Identify root causes, minimize risks and prevention.
  • Work on agreed action plans that are based on facts, knowledge of policies and procedures, understanding of priorities, and factory operational mode.
  • Able to work all shifts, urgency, and some weekends as required to support EHSS or business objectives.
  • Required to stand for at least 75% of working time per shift, with walking at least 50% of working time per shift.
