Our client, an International Infrastructure Engineering Consultancy firm is looking for an experienced Pre Contract Estimator to be based at their office at Mid Valley,

They deliver electrical infrastructure projects across Australia, including substations, mining sites, and road tunnels. These projects involve full EPC delivery--procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems such as lighting, control systems, transformers and associated equipment.

Requirements

They need an Estimator who understands electrical infrastructure construction and can work confidently in the pre-contracts space. The role involves:

Manage customer enquiries, drawings, specifications, and commercial terms to prepare accurate estimates. Prepare detailed cost estimates covering labour, management, materials, equipment, and subcontractor inputs balancing the direct cost estimate with resources over time. Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for accuracy and competitiveness and present for recommendation to select. Develop and submit comprehensive bids and proposals in line with client and project requirements. Identify risks, uncertainties, and opportunities in project costs, incorporating contingencies as needed. Maintain accurate records of calculations, assumptions, and supporting documentation. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to confirm project scope and requirements. Provide clear cost reports and ensure estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Qualfications:

Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in the Utilities, Industrial, Mining, or Transport sectors (Tier 1 or 2 contractor background preferred). Proficiency with cloud estimating software and digital take-off platforms. Strong commercial acumen with a focus on accuracy and detail. HV and Control Systems experience highly desirable. Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
