Job Description

An electrician installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems in industrial settings. Key duties include reading blueprints, installing wiring and fixtures, troubleshooting electrical problems using diagnostic tools, and ensuring all work complies with safety codes and regulations. Electricians also inspect components like transformers and circuit breakers, perform repairs, and document their work.

Key responsibilities

Installation

: Install and maintain wiring, lighting, control, and power systems in existing buildings.

Maintenance and repair

: Inspect and test electrical components, identify faults, and perform repairs or replacements on wiring, equipment, and fixtures.

Troubleshooting

: Diagnose and fix electrical problems, such as power outages or low voltage, using various testing devices.

Compliance

: Ensure all electrical work adheres to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local building and safety regulations.

Planning and design

: Read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications to plan and execute installations.

Documentation

: Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any repairs made.

Collaboration

: Work with other tradespeople, contractors, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time.

Common skills and qualifications

Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematics. Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools, as well as electrical testing devices like ammeters and voltmeters. Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills. Physical stamina to work in various environments and on different types of projects. Knowledge of safety procedures and electrical codes.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
