  • Overseeing the Dam Safety operation and maintenance.
  • Participate in conducting thorough and regular inspections of SEB's major dams to assess their structural integrity, identify potential hazards, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Accountable for monitoring and analysing data from dam instrumentation and monitoring systems.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports that document the findings of inspections, risk assessments, and safety improvement initiatives.
  • Implement the preventive and corrective maintenance works for the SEB's major dams as per maintenance plan prepared by the team lead and also from the finding of the biannual inspection.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, regulatory agencies, engineering consultants, and emergency management agencies.
  • Responsible to keep updated with the latest dam safety regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Prepare the relevant tender documents, evaluation, award, project supervision, handing over, and maintenance.
  • Prepare the annual budget for the following year expenditures or for the ad hoc work requested by Hydro management.

  • Complexity: Dams are complex structures with multiple interacting components, making problem-solving challenging.
  • Uncertainty: Assessing and managing risks associated with dam safety involves dealing with uncertainties and making decisions based on incomplete or limited data, which can introduce additional challenges in problem-solving.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Need to navigate through complex regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with safety standards and guidelines.
  • Long-term Planning: Ensuring the safety of dams requires long-term planning and continuous monitoring.
QUALIFICATION & WORK EXPERIENCE (KNOW-HOW):
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent in engineering field.
  • At least 1-3 years' experience in civil or relevant works.
  • Well-versed in technical report preparation.
  • Willing to travel to SEB's major dams on short notice if required.
  • Well versed in operating any relevant modeling or analysis software is an advantage.
Preference will be given to internal candidate.
