Job description
In your new role you will:
- Experience in Oracle or MYSQL databases.
- Review health check report on the databases and ensure databases are in good health status.
- Review health check report on the database backup and ensure databases backup is in place.
- Review health check report on DB overall usage and ensure databases are followed standard compliancy.
- To attend DB patching, upgrade, migration on the scheduled downtime.
- Provide 24*7 on call support (on rotation basis, including public holiday or when required).
- Handling of Remedy ticket (Change, Task or incident) on Oracle & MYSQL databases.
- Ensure no outstanding ticket assigned to DBA team.
- Involved in the Disaster Recovery (DR) Test.
- To perform DB backup and restore when required.
- Setup, configure and maintain new databases for user testing or new projects.
- Provide support to Database Automation team (develop & testing).
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree holder in IT or similar field of studies.
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years of production database management experience in any 1 of the following databases (MYSQL, ORACLE) is an added advantage.
- Experience of work in the IT Industry & Semiconductor and programming (Unix based Shell Script, Python).
- Experienced in database migration between versions, platforms and different database types is an added advantage.
- Experienced in UNIX and Linux server environment is an added advantage.
