About the Role

Sonicon Construction is looking for passionate and motivated

Civil Engineering students or fresh graduates

to join our team as

Engineering Interns

. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world construction and infrastructure projects, focusing on structural assessments, site operations, and project coordination.

You'll work alongside experienced engineers and site professionals, gaining valuable insights into

Malaysia's construction and rectification industry

-- including exposure to

cutting-edge technologies like Xradar scanning, robotic demolition, and precision concrete works

.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Support and Coordination

Assist Project Engineers in daily site operations, progress monitoring, and quality checks. Participate in site inspections and safety briefings. Prepare daily site reports and photo documentation.

2. Technical and Documentation Support

Support the preparation of method statements, drawings, and technical reports. Interpret construction drawings and specifications under supervision. Assist in collecting and analyzing site data for reporting purposes.

3. Quality and Safety

Monitor worksite safety practices in compliance with CIDB and company standards. Report any safety or quality issues promptly to the project supervisor.

4. Cross-Department Collaboration

Work with technical, commercial, and operations teams to ensure smooth project flow. Participate in project meetings and assist with documentation and coordination.

5. Learning & Development

Gain exposure to Sonicon's specialized services including

structural scanning, rectification, and refurbishment

. Learn practical engineering applications through mentorship and on-site experience.

Requirements

Education:

Pursuing or recently completed a

Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

from a recognized institution.

Technical Skills:

Basic knowledge of civil/construction principles. Able to read and interpret engineering drawings. Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic AutoCAD. Understanding of site safety practices (CIDB awareness preferred).

Soft Skills:

Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. Proactive, reliable, and a good communicator. Comfortable working in both office and site environments. Team-oriented and adaptable to dynamic project needs.

Job Type: Internship
Contract length: 2-6 months

Pay: RM600.00 - RM700.00 per month
