We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering manager to provide the Technical leadership for our delivery of data centre project. The Engineering Manager is the single point of accountability for all engineering matters and leads a team of subject matter experts (senior engineers) in the successful delivery of complex industrial automation scope of the Data Centre projects. Preference will be given to candidates with a background in Data Centre projects and relevant experience in Malaysia.
What You'll Do:
Lead, mentor, and manage a core team of Technical subject matter experts (senior engineers) to achieve project and organizational objectives.
Act as the single point of accountability for all engineering-related matters throughout the project lifecycle.
Company's Single point of contact for technical matters to client
Oversee the design, implementation, and integration of engineering solutions in complex industrial automation environments, in large Data Centre projects.
Manage the testing and validation of critical infrastructure systems, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, cooling, and fire suppression systems.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and national standards, with a focus on Malaysian standards for electrical wiring and cabinet designs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align technical solutions with client requirements.
Serve as a primary customer-facing representative for engineering matters, demonstrating strong communication skills in English and a consultative approach.
Drive continuous improvement and adoption of advanced engineering practices, including the use of Rockwell PLC, Ignition SCADA, IoT devices, Building Information Modelling (BIM), and networking technologies.
Review and approve technical documentation, drawings, and specifications, ensuring the highest level of technical integrity and quality.
Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent, fostering a high-performance culture within the team.
Facilitate training for teams and ensure they are equipped to manage the data centre once fully operational.
Oversee all stages of the project, ensuring smooth and timely handover to the operations team
Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to data centre and industrial automation sectors
Your Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or Master in Engineering (either in Electrical, or Electronics, or Computer Science, or Instrumentation) or a related field.
Min 15 experience in engineering, demonstrated principal engineer-level technical competency.
Extensive hands-on experience in complex industrial automation projects, such as Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Discrete Manufacturing or Data Centre (preferably) environments.
Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of senior engineers and subject matter experts.
In-depth commendable knowledge of Rockwell PLC, Ignition SCADA, IoT devices, Building Information Modelling (BIM), networking equipment, and electrical wiring/cabinet complying to Malaysian standards (MS IEC).
Project lifecycle experience from basic design, detail design, implementation, testing (FAT), QA&QC, site installation, construction, commissioning and handover
Excellent command of the English language, with strong verbal and written communication skills as this is a customer-facing role.
Knowledge of other Asian languages is advantages
Prior working experience in data centre projects is highly preferred
