Responsible for planning, directing, controlling, co-ordinating and participating in all engineering activities and for preparing and implementing maintenance programmes, cost reduction, work simplification, methods and techniques, improvement programmes and other projects.
Directs, co-ordinates and participates in all activities of engineering personnel.
Develops and implements cost reduction work simplification methods and techniques and improvement programmes.
Develops and sees to the implementation of preventive maintenance and repair schedules for all equipment, machinery and other facilities.
Prepares and/or evaluates designs and specifications for all engineering personnel; supervises the installation and construction of all engineering work; submit periodic reports on project status operating performance to superior.
Controls and sees to adequacy of all engineering supplies.
Evaluates all engineering contracts and bids, submits recommendation to superior for approval.
Ensure that all engineering installations, construction and operations comply with building codes and government rules and regulations, acts as liaison with government agencies concerned.
Develops and implements safety procedures and recommends necessary changes.
Prepares and/or approves requisitions, purchase orders, etc. pertaining to maintenance.
Develops policies and procedures to govern and control activities of engineering.
Assumes responsibility for extinguishing of fires and co-ordination of rescue.
To handle engineering projects as and when delegated.
Monitoring monthly utilities consumption and take relevant actions.
Core Experience Required:
Strong knowledge of
Mechanical & Electrical (M&E)
systems -- HVAC, chillers, pumps, fire protection, plumbing, and lighting systems.
Hands-on experience with
preventive and corrective maintenance programs
.
Familiarity with
Building Management Systems (BMS)
and
Energy Management Systems (EMS)
.
Experience managing
contractors and service providers
.
Proven ability to develop and implement
preventive maintenance schedules
.
Knowledge of
local safety regulations
,
Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga)
requirements, and
JKKP/DOSH
standards.
Exposure to
ISO standards
or
hotel brand maintenance SOPs
is an added advantage.
Experience in
managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets
, preparing cost analysis, and ensuring energy efficiency.
Ability to
plan and execute refurbishment, renovation, or technical upgrade projects
.
Strong leadership in managing
technicians, supervisors, and vendors
.
Ability to
train, motivate, and develop
engineering team members.
Excellent communication skills -- both technical and interpersonal.
