Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic, experienced and dedicated English teachers and trainers for face-to-face group and 1-to-1 classes to help our international students achieve their language learning goals. You will be teaching group classes, as well as possibly one-to-one students, as part of our intensive English program. As part of your role, there may be a possibility to teach either general or academic English. The students you will be teaching are full-time post-secondary students from all over the world. They study for varying lengths of time and have a variety of language goals. They follow intensive language programs that aim to maximize their language production through communicative, task-based learning. ELC teachers adapt and modify materials to suit the needs of their students and ensure a student-centered, English speaking environment. Your role Teaching up to 25 hours a week depending on whether you are seeking a part-time or full-time role Planning lessons and working to a syllabus Creating a culturally-inclusive, engaging and student-centered learning environment Monitoring student progress and adapting accordingly Ensuring that any homework/additional tasks are marked and returned to the student(s) in a timely manner Setting and marking weekly progress tests Working with other teachers to share best practices Cover teaching if required Attending professional development sessions Qualifications Proficiency in English Bachelor\'s degree from a recognized university in a relevant subject (i.e. Applied Linguistics, TESOL, English, Education, Communication, etc.) plus CELTA (highly desired), TESOL or equivalent qualification in English language teaching Minimum of three years of English teaching experience for a full-time position Experience creating assessments and tests preferred Be dynamic, adaptable, creative, positive and responsible About ELC Malaysia English Language Company (ELC) Malaysia is part of Sydney-based ELC International, an industry leader and innovator in the field of international language education.
