Job Description

Job Scope / Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure the company complies with all environmental regulations and legislation (e.g., DOE, EQA 1974 in Malaysia). Liaise with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and auditors regarding environmental matters. Maintain and renew necessary environmental licenses, permits, and reports.

Environmental Monitoring

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and sampling of air, water, and waste to ensure compliance. Monitor environmental aspects and impacts, including pollution levels, noise, emissions, and waste management practices.

Environmental Management System (EMS)

Develop, implement, and maintain the Environmental Management System (ISO 14001 or similar). Prepare and update documentation such as the Environmental Policy, Objectives, Aspects Register, and Emergency Response Plan.

Waste Management

Oversee the segregation, storage, transport, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste. Ensure proper documentation and reporting of waste in accordance with regulations.

Training and Awareness

Conduct environmental awareness training for staff and contractors. Promote environmental best practices and sustainability initiatives within the organization.

Reporting and Documentation

Prepare periodic environmental reports (e.g., Environmental Monitoring Reports, Scheduled Waste Reports). Maintain records of inspections, permits, waste disposal, and compliance assessments.

Incident Management

Investigate environmental incidents, spills, and non-compliance cases. Implement corrective and preventive actions to mitigate environmental risks.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for environmental improvement and recommend sustainable practices. Participate in green initiatives, energy conservation programs, and carbon footprint reduction efforts.
Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 8 months

Pay: RM8,500.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
