Role Description

The Environmental Officer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with Malaysian environmental laws, regulations, and project-specific Environmental Management Plans (EMPs). The officer plays a critical role in managing environmental risks, conducting inspections, and liaising with regulatory bodies.

Ensure all construction activities comply with Malaysia's Environmental Quality Act 1974 and other relevant environmental legislation. Maintain records and submit reports to DOE or other authorities as required. Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure environmental standards are upheld. Manage waste segregation, storage, and disposal according to scheduled waste regulations. Promote best environmental practices and continuous improvement. Liaise with DOE, local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders regarding environmental matters. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field. Minimum 2-5 years in an environmental role within the construction or infrastructure sector. Familiar with Malaysia's EQA 1974, EIA guidelines, DOE procedures, and ISO 14001 EMS Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Good communication and reporting skills Ability to work collaboratively in a team Experience in the construction or engineering industry
