To control activities relating to discharge of wastes into the environment as to prevent and control pollution
To protect and enhance the quality of environment
To control the issue of license on volume, types, constituents and effect of wastes, discharges, emissions and substance which are danger or potential danger to the quality of environment
To undertake surveys and investigations of causes, nature, extent of pollution
To develop criteria for the protection and enhancement of environment
To assist and co-operate with other bodies or persons carrying out similar surveys or investigation
To provide information, alert, advise and education to management, staff and workers regarding to protection, environmental regulations, requirements, and enhancement of the environment
To liaise with government authorities pertaining to the environment aspects
To prepare documents related to environment monitoring and compliance
To perform quality control checks and initiate maintenance work for malfunctioning equipment that may lead to environment
To record of manufacturing processes, and of maintenance and performance monitoring of the air pollution control system and kept record for at least 3 years
To ensure scheduled waste are being delivered to and received at prescribed premises treatment for treatment, disposal or recovery.
To ensure scheduled waste transfer and move by packaged, labelled and transport that comply with standard guidelines.
To advise on treatment and containment requirement to prevent spillage
To fill and provide information as per prescribed in Sixth Scheduled to transfer Scheduled waste
To keep and store a signed copy of the Sixth Scheduled and shall retained as record for three years
To provide information of each category of Scheduled wastes as prescribed in Seventh Scheduled
To maintain and update record and data of scheduled waste generation as specified in Fifth Scheduled
To provide essential training on identification, handling, labelling, transportation, storage and spillage or discharge response of scheduled wastes
To submit report scheduled waste inventory to Electronic Scheduled Waste Information System (eSWIS)
To monitor the concentration of Chemical Oxygen Deman (COD) and any parameter as specified in standard scheduled
To take sampling and monitoring of incoming and discharge water quality
To maintain a record of industrial effluent discharge monitoring data as per specified in the Tenth Scheduled
To submit first record of discharge monitoring data within 30days of first operation
To submit records of discharge monitoring data of industrial effluent
To record and filing compulsory document for Industrial effluent reports
To ensure all components of the Industrial Effluent Treatment System (IETS) are work in good condition
To conduct performance monitoring of components IETS
To adopt the Best Management Practice parameter as specified in the Ninth Scheduled
To carry out in-site and ex-site analysis of industrial effluent using approved instruments
To undertakes other responsibilities and when assigned from time to time
Job Requirements
Possess at least Bachelor\'s Degree in Environmental or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years working experience in similar capacity is preferred.
Having Certified Environmental Professional in Scheduled Waste Management (CePSWaM) & Certified Environmental Professionals in The Operation of Industrial Effluent Treatment Systems (Physical Chemical Processes & Biological Processes) are an added advantage.
Familiarity with MS SQL Server, MS Windows Server, basic networking skills.
