Purpose Statement:

Develop/support control systems and customize systems used in the development and production. Independently or as a member of a team; develops concepts, prototypes, control systems, equipment integration systems, and software for complex manufacturing and equipment system integration.

Key Responsibilities:

-Participate in project teams to develop clear specifications, evaluate feasibility of concepts, and provide formal estimates for control systems and equipment integration system designs.
-Design control systems and (PC and PLC based) solutions.
-Coordinate, monitor, and document project designs, estimates, and costs. Complete project deliverables and monitor project schedule and scope changes to assure the team can meet delivery requirements.
-Prepare standard reports/documentation to communicate status and results. Deliver data-driven insights, produce timely and actionable information to help drive business results through effective dashboards and visualizations.
-Collaborate with internal stakeholders to elicit requirements and transform them into technology solutions.
-Provide software support to the Equipment Design, Maintenance, and Manufacturing groups.
-Review software design specifications and associated documentation for equipment and systems.
-Ensure compliance with Software Validation/Control policies, and procedures.
-Influence and define functional, departmental/divisional procedures through involvement with cross-functional engineering initiatives.
-Provide training as required to ensure that the solutions can be operated effectively.
-Manage equipment failure, outlining the impact on the business, recovery plan, and resources required.
-Ensure best software practices are employed by the group so as to maximize equipment effectiveness.
-Determine appropriate skills to meet the plant software development requirements.
-Be familiar with all aspects of software validations and 21 CFR Part 11 issues for electronic records and signatures.
-Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained in order to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
-Establishes and promotes a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.
