Identifies and computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements based on customer prints and specs.
Presents prepared estimates by assembling labor and material costs.
Communicate with project managers, engineers and customers to clarify project requirements and ensure that estimates meet the customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs.
Collaborate with the project team to identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving alternatives.
Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and availability of materials and services.
Participate in project meetings and presentations.
Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
EXPERIENCE
3 to 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience estimating in a manufacturing environment. Focus on sheet metal, machining, welding, paint.
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency in ERP systems technology, Epicor knowledge preferred.
ABILITIES
Strong organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience in value engineering and cost-saving strategies.
Understanding of manufacturing documents.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
Knowledge of CAD software.
Requires some working knowledge of costs of painting, plating, silk-screening, and other common machining and/or sheet metal services.
Knowledge of metal fabrication techniques and methods.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at the appropriate level across the organization.
Proficient with Excel.
Ability to commit to a flexible schedule and prompt arrival to scheduled shifts.
Ability to follow verbal instructions.
Ability to be cross trained in other departments to help with unexpectedly high demands.
