The Event Manager plays a key role in the successful delivery of Currency Research's international events. This is a remote position, and the successful candidate will work from home while collaborating closely with the Event Development Lead, the broader Currency Research Operations team, and other internal stakeholders. The role focuses on the delegate experience and on-the-ground execution of events. You will be the go-to person for logistics, delegate communications, and on-site coordination--ensuring our attendees receive a seamless and welcoming experience from start to finish. International travel is required to support on-site event delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. Delegate & Attendee Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for delegates, ensuring a positive and professional delegate experience throughout the event lifecycle.
Manage delegate communications, including invitation letters, visa requests, and outstanding payments, maintaining high levels of customer service and responsiveness.
Track registration, provide exceptional customer service, handling all delegate-related issues efficiently and with a focus on creating a smooth, positive experience.
2. On-Site & Pre-Event Logistics
Oversee on-site registration, check-in, and attendee services, ensuring a helpful, friendly, and efficient experience for all delegates as the first point of contact.
Manage event logistics, including venue setup, AV coordination, signage, catering, and rooming lists, ensuring everything is set up and executed flawlessly for an outstanding attendee experience.
Troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the event, maintaining high levels of helpfulness and customer service to ensure smooth operations and delegate satisfaction.
Take full accountability for the execution of event logistics and decision-making during on-site operations.
3. Vendor & Hotel Coordination
Liaise with the hotel and vendors, as the primary point of contact, ensuring service delivery aligns with event needs and overseeing execution on-site.
Confirm final room blocks, catering orders, and service timelines, taking full accountability for ensuring these elements meet the event's requirements.
Work closely with AV, production teams, and the speaker coordinator to ensure smooth technical setup and on-site execution, making real-time decisions to address any issues that arise.
Own the final on-site execution, ensuring all vendor and hotel services meet expectations and are delivered according to the event schedule.
4. Event Execution & Post-Event Wrap-Up
Ensure smooth execution of the program (plenary session, exhibit, general F&B, transportation, offsite receptions, and/or dinners).
Handle all logistics-related on-site responsibilities.
Assist in post-event reporting, feedback collection, and process improvements.
Experience Required:
1-3 years of experience in event coordination or management, preferably for international B2B conferences or similar
Proven experience handling on-site logistics, delegate communications, and vendor interactions
Familiarity with invitation letters and international visa requirements for event attendees
Experience using event registration platforms, Asana, Slack and Microsoft Office Suite
Previous collaboration with cross-functional teams in a remote or international setting is a plus
