Job Description


:

: * Execute Investment / Acquisition activities appropriately by reviewing and negotiating business model and agreements, executing the financial due diligence exercises, financial commitments, and integrated evaluation of opportunities to safeguard and maximize value for PETRONAS. Provide regular updates to the Management especially prior to Board meetings and Management Committee meetings, provide governance advice with reference to Upstream / PETRONAS LOA and provide analysis with recommendations, with respect to future projects and its financial implications, to ensure company\'s statutory and financial obligations are met within the prescribed timeline and aligned to company\'s strategy.

  • Lead the annual budget exercise for CMD General and Admin (G&A) and support CMD\'s Performance Improvement team in the annual budget exercise for Operating Expenditure (OPEX) and Capital Expenditure (CAPEX), review sessions and discussions as well as highlighting key issues and provide recommendation or way forward to ensure timely and quality submission of budget as well as integration, alignment and compliance with PETRONAS\' objectives & strategies and regulatory / contractual requirements as an input for management decision, implement an effective budgetary control system especially on General and Admin (G&A), to monitor and manage budget utilization through reviews, additional or supplementary budget requests & budget transfers and expenditure tracking to address deviations and ensuring efficient and effective budget utilization.
  • Collaborate with CMD, project team and cost controller to ensure value of work done (VOWD) are recorded and to ensure that recording of all project costs is in compliance with PETRONAS Group Accounting Principle & Guidelines, PETRONAS policies & procedures and relevant accounting standards. Analyze and execute monthly accruals for periodic and year end closing, prepare and analyse financial performance reports to relevant stakeholders and ensure all charges into and out of CMD are correctly posted.
  • Support CMD in managing Joint Venture (JV) arrangements and JV partners and that includes setup of JV module in accounting system, analysis of partnership\'s budget, expenditure and cash calls, execution of cash call payments and arrange for Finance meetings and JV partners audits.
  • Coordinate and facilitate issue resolution and negotiation with external and internal auditors, funders and host government audit exercises by providing all required supporting documents and justification to ensure effective and smooth audit exercise.
Qualification:
  • Degree in Accounting / Economy / Finance
  • Possess professional qualification in accounting such as Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Malaysian Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) would be an added advantage.
Requirement
  • Minimum 2 - 5 years in accounting/finance and commercial/business development.
  • Exposure in sustainability, climate change and ESG would be an added advantage.
