Job Description


  • To develop strategy and plan for local and overseas projects, purchasing and inventory activities.
  • To handle and ensure smooth running new project until mass production.
  • To responsible of the execution, analysis and final reporting or results and recommendations for new components or vendor.
  • To develop strategy and plan for cost down activities.
  • To ensure high degree of 5s, safety and security along the purchasing line.
  • To perform Vendor Evaluation & Vendor Rating System.
  • To develop the EOL System.
  • To develop vendor Risk assessment system to control risk of supply chain at minimum level.
  • To contributes to the company\'s success by developing and implementing procurement strategies and programs to meet company-wide cost saving objectives.
  • To ensure adequate communication with the suppliers for best price and term negotiation evaluate existing and new suppliers performance by ranking and selecting based on DAMA\'s standard and requirement as well as QMS ISO9001:2015 / EMS ISO14000 requirement.
  • To conduct commercial evaluations of potential and existing sources of supply.
  • To perform vendor auditing and determine alternative materials and approaches.
  • To perform commodity hedging if necessary to ensure best and stable pricing for raw materials.
  • Develop project plans to support the buyers in their projects.
  • Manage all project schedules and deadlines according to the company procurement processes.
  • To ensure efficient and effective execution of activities and administration of respective line.
  • To communicate effectively and build relationships inside our organizations.
  • To ensure optimum stock accuracy (actual and in the system) through timely and systematic physical count and updating receiving, issuing, rejection control and material transfer.
  • To ensure accuracy and on-time update of the purchasing and inventory master date file.
  • Identify, source, negotiate and implement procurement and procurement key cost saving opportunities resulting in significant saving to the company in multiple categories of spend.
  • To update cost down report.
  • To communicate interdepartmental to ensure the EOL flow in order.
  • To assist the Senior Manager (HOD), Procurement in Procurement System development.
  • To recruit, train educates and develops his/her team of purchasing and inventory staff.
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by the company.
Reporting to: Assistant Manager, ProcurementPrerequisite Skills & Knowledge:
  • Through understanding of procurement and inventory policy and procedure including purchasing shipping delivery, receiving preparing and issuing.
  • Full understanding of the sales and production cycle of the air-conditioning industry and be able to comply with the procurement and inventory activities for best industry practice.
  • Overall knowledge on warehouse management particularly on FIFO stock aging, 5s, safety, QMS ISO9001:2015 / EMS ISO14001 and WI etc.
  • Understanding of DEDM\'s mission and vision in order to the procurement and inventory strategy are set in compliance with the company\'s direction.
  • SAP Modules.
  • Through understanding and high ability in using MM module.
PURCHASINGKey Roles & Key Responsibilities :
  • Manage purchasing function to ensure quality parts are supplied on time at competitive prices and with optimum inventory levels.
  • Develop purchasing plan and monitor its execution to meet delivery and inventory requirements.
  • Manage purchasing resources for high efficiency and good coordination in achieving on time supply and target inventory levels.
  • Review stock purchase by monitoring market conditions, current stock levels, lead time required for manufacturing, potential price increase, anticipation of new orders from customers, suppliers conditions.
  • Ensure all purchases are approved within mandated guidelines.
  • Manage the cost of total purchase including freight and forwarding charges.
  • Develop vendors to ensure vendor delivery, quality and costs meet requirements.
  • Develop team of purchasers to work effectively in respective purchasing functions.
  • Review and report performance of purchasing and inventory functions in achieving targets.
  • Liaise with relevant personnel from related departments for matters affecting purchasing performance
  • Uphold company and department regulations and ensure compliance by all subordinates.
  • Ensure good 5S practice in work area.
  • To carry out any other duties as directed by the company.
