Interpret and apply U.S. and international export control and sanctions regulations, including the US BIS Classification, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
Licensing and Documentation:
Prepare, submit, and manage export license applications, commodity classification requests (e.g., ECCN, HTS), and other required documentation to government agencies such as the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS).
Screening and Risk Assessment:
Conduct denied party screening and investigations of customers, suppliers, and other third parties to identify potential end-use or end-user restrictions and ensure sales are not made to sanctioned individuals or entities.
Audits and Compliance Monitoring:
Perform internal audits and assessments of export activities and records to identify areas of non-compliance, implement corrective actions, and maintain a thorough audit trail for authorities.
Policy and Procedure Development:
Develop, implement, and update internal policies, procedures, and work instructions related to export compliance.
Training and Guidance:
Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders, such as sales, logistics, operations and R&D teams, on export compliance requirements and best practices.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners (freight forwarders, customs brokers, legal counsel, government agencies) to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely and compliant shipments.
Recordkeeping:
Maintain detailed and accurate records in compliance with regulatory record-retention requirements.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Science, business, law, engineering, or international affair or has an equivalent experience in the industry.
5 years of working experience in trade compliance preferably in the semiconductor industry.
Strong understanding of export control laws and regulations, particularly EAR and ITAR for semiconductor products.
Excellent analytical and communication skills to provide guidance and conduct investigations.
Proficiency in classification systems (e.g., HTS, ECCN)
