Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Experience in developing controls and networking design. Develop hardware assembly and wiring diagrams for supervisory control and data acquisition systems (SCADA), develop control system software in PLC ladder logic, function block, structured text and HMI programming as well as performing all continued ownership and troubleshooting of the SCADA and PLC systems. Must have relevant experience being lead engineer for hardware engineering (systems, integration, instrumentation specification, panel layout and construction). Experienced designing process flow diagrams, P&IDs, single line diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, instrumentation and control data sheets, I/O lists and controls narratives/sequence of operations.
  • Experience with Allen Bradley PLC hardware/software. ControlLogix PLC programming experience developing new programs and troubleshooting existing programs.
  • Experience with HMI programming and troubleshooting. Wonderware InTouch experience a plus but any prior industrial HMI/SCADA experience may be substituted (GE Cimplicity, GE iFix, Rockwell Factory Talk, Ignition)
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting networking devices such as industrial Ethernet switches, gateways and OPC servers. Configuring and troubleshooting industrial protocols (Common Industrial Protocol - ControlNet, DeviceNet, EtherNet/IP, Modbus RTU and TCP/IP, BACnet, Profinet, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus and HART Protocol)
  • Experience with AFD / VFD selection, programming, wiring, and interfacing. Relevant knowledge of sizing of drives and necessary components for drive functionality and safety.
  • Vast variety of experience selecting and implementing wide ranges of instrumentation including but not limited to temperatures (air and process), pressures and flows (air, liquids, gasses), levels (liquids and gasses), dewpoints and humidity's, process analytics, etc.
  • Manage and own all control system operations. Ensure any modifications and contractor installations reflect all quality standards. Ensure that the controls vendors are coordinated with Lam Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical and Electrical) for proper delivery and implementation for controls on infrastructure projects.
  • Experiences in Mechanical knowledge will be an added advantage
Other Job Responsibilities
  • ACMV systems (Cleanroom, Office and Server Room Air Handlers)
  • Mechanical/Process systems (Chilled Water, Heat Exhaust, Process Cooling Water, CDA, P-Vac, High Purity Process Gases) Engineering design reviews, construction oversight and start-up/commissioning support for facility construction and manufacturing systems expansions
  • Drive improvement of infrastructure system performance and up-time
  • Direct air and water balancing services
  • Provide technical oversight to operations and maintenance services providers
  • Support as-built documentation of mechanical system layouts and P&ID's
  • Maintain load/capacity studies for facility infrastructure systems
  • Provide technical review and approval of cleanroom certification reports
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Controls, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering or Computer Science with 5-8 years of semiconductor manufacturing/R&D lab/wafer fab experience in controls and instrumentation. Technical degree/certificate and equivalent experience may be substituted.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong safety culture
  • Experience with standard operating procedure creation and training skills
  • Familiarity with process PLC and commercial HVAC building control systems
  • Experience with energy efficiency improvement projects
  • Demonstrated ability working directly with mechanical contractors and service providers to ensure delivery of operational results
  • Able to perform Failure Mode and Effect Analysis during project design development phase
  • Capital and Expense project financial management and cost control experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Capable of supporting multiple concurrent projects and assignments
  • Thrives in a fast paced, high energy work environment
  • Values internal and cross-functional teamwork to solving problems
  • Assertive nature and willingness to support customer needs when challenged
